Just don't call it open borders

I know that we often go back and forth on immigration and who wants or doesn’t want open borders or even what is open borders. What I’ve concluded is that with regards to immigration the Democrat party and those on the Left have no concern over the border especially what ever the numbers are of people that come across the border. In their views there’s no amount of humanity flowing into the country that would concern them. The more the merrier! They only thing they really don’t like is the term “open borders” (I assume because it’s politically toxic).

Here are just a few quotes from those on the Left here regarding this issue:

“Yeah it’s not like America is comprised of like ninety nine percent immigrants, most in the last hundred years or so, and you guys have literally never been right about immigrant ruining the country.”

In other words America doesn’t belong to just those of us who are here (and pay the taxes) it belongs to everyone else in the world who wants to come here as well. Furthermore, the more who come here the exponentially better off we will be.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”… something something etc…etc…"

If only I could have a nickel every time this was brought up. Taking this to its logical conclusion would give us an increase of about 3 billion people, or over 10x our current population (nearly 3 billion people in the world are in extreme or near extreme levels of poverty).

"We have room for at least 1,000,000,000 people in this nation. Lots of room for all."

“Was it unsustainable back in the mid 1800s when the poor flooded in.”

These statements speak for themselves.

"They are not illegals they are asylum seekers."

In other words, in the minds of those on the Left it’s perfectly acceptable for everyone in the world to bypass any country that is geographically closer and come on in to the US. Maybe this approach could also get us to additional 3 billion people.

Many of the other statements are along the typical lines about them wanting to escape poverty, find a better life, then there are the statements about how massive increases in immigration will be great for the economy.

One cannot logically express such views and not support at minimum unlimited levels of immigration. So instead of calling it “open borders” let’s just just have a system that grants automatic citizenship for anyone in the world who wants to be an “American.”

Why are folks ignorant that there are some Trump era border policies that are still being used? One of the big ones is Title 42. If the Biden administration really wanted open borders don’t you think that they would have completely zero out this policies?

Biden is in a position that no matter what he does no one will like it.

If Ol Joey would focus on the rule of law and direct the Federal Agencies to enforce the law he really wouldn’t have to give a ■■■■ whose feelings get hurt now would he.
J’Biden is a limp wrist career politician that has never took a stand on anything in his 50 years peddling his hopes, lies and bull ■■■■ enriching himself and his family.
He made his bed kissing the Progs arses, now he gets to lie in it.

Well no ■■■■■

He shouldn’t have signaled the wave.

All on him now…but horses…

The “horse systemic racism” narrative is just another BS deflection to take attention away from the J’Biden clown show. Mayorkas should resign in disgrace after standing at a podium, lying to the American people repeatedly then throwing his own border LEOs under the bus. What a fake.

I took a small sampling of your (I see no disagreement from any of libs here on this issue) statements on immigration. I could post hundreds more along the same lines. Rather easy and consistent conclusion.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you were saying there.

The United States has taken refugees and asylum seekers from other countries for a long time, what is the difference now.

The Republican Party is now the nativist party and the Democratic Party is now the immigration party.

“We have room for at least 1,000,000,000 people in this nation. Lots of room for all.”

Should we stop at just 1 billion?

It has been proven on here many times so don’t ask for it again, they are releasing many without checking them. They are giving lip service to Title 42 for people like you to lap up.

Wants to ignore Title 42

This thread is more about libs on political forums (I’ve been on other forums as well) and your statements regarding immigration.

Let me take a step back and explain the process. There are two exceptions to the applicability of Title 42, the public health authority. Number one is if an individual has an acute vulnerability, such as an urgent medical care. And two, if, in fact, our operational capacity is such that we are not able to execute the Title 42 authority that rests with the Centers for Disease Control.

I should also say that there is a Convention Against Torture exception if someone claims torture, which is a distinct legal standard.

Individuals, as I mentioned, with acute vulnerability can be accepted from the Title 42 application. Approximately 12,400 individuals will have their cases heard by an immigration judge to make a determination on whether they will be removed or permitted to remain in the United States. That is a piece of data that has been requested of us.

Telling them how to get past it. Twice.

Exactly!!! We have laws don’t you know - nod, nod, wink, wink - but there’s all these ways around them, let us help you figure them out. It’s the same ■■■■■■■■ with asylum. All of a sudden it looks like half the world needs asylum. Well it looks like it’s perfectly acceptable for everyone to bypass every other geographically closer country and come right to the US!

Whatever you do, just don’t call it open borders.

My ancestors immigrated most from England and Germany.

How bout yours?

Why did they want to settle in the new world?

What’s the difference between my ancestors and yours and the people immigrating today?

Your post has nothing to do with the OP.
