I still can’t figure out why someone would want to get a disease and then treat it, rather than prevent it in the first place. Does that work with other diseases? I’ll get obese and then have a gastric bypass. I’ll get Lyme disease and then take doxycycline. I’ll get an opioid addiction and then take Suboxone. I’ll get COVID and then take molnupiravir. These treatments don’t magically reverse or prevent all long term effects of the disease they address.
Fits with the zero-accountability short term outlook/instant gratification society we live in.
People who aren’t into science will dismiss this. That’s fine. For everyone else.
We won’t know for a while how durable immunity (natural or vaccine) to SARS-CoV-2 is. We can look at other coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-1 to get an idea.
Reinfection by SARS-CoV-2 under endemic conditions would likely occur between 3 and 63 months after peak antibody response, with a median of 16 months. This protection is of less than half the duration revealed for the endemic coronaviruses circulating among humans.
So, typical duration of immunity before 50% will be reinfected is estimated to be 16 months.
Like I said. People who don’t believe in science will dismiss the findings. Doesn’t bother me. Doesn’t change the findings either. Dismiss and “rationalize” away.
don’t have to rationalize anything, lancet is garbage and has published one garbage study after another throughout the pandemic. there’s a reason the authors go to lancet
