From what I see, the main benefit of the vaccine is that reduces the dangers from COVID infection, but the end point is likely to come only after the vast majority have developed natural immunity to the disease.

Healthy young people and children have an extremely low risk from COVID to begin with. Vaccine mandates make zero sense if they have immunity from a previous infection.
