My sympathies to her loved ones first and foremost. This is another nuclear detonation that the country didn’t need during such a tumultuous year.
RIP, sister. You were a tough one.
And ■■■■ cancer.
RIP…I lost my wife to cancer.
A lifetime of service. Rest In Peace The Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Supreme Court of the United States.
Full honors Washington. No games.
Mod Note
This is for you specifically and everybody generally, there won’t be any “political notes” in this thread today. We as a group can offer 24 hours of respect for Justice Ginsburg.
If you all are bound and determined to discuss the politics of this national tragedy, you can start another thread. I would advise extreme caution.
Remarkable for her dedication and service no matter which side of the aisle you reside.
No matter what I may have thought about some of her decisions, she lived a life of service, dedication and courage. We should all hope to make 1/100 the impact she did to her Country and her fellow men
Godspeed, RGB.
A phenomenal legal intellect. Those who were blessed to work under her tutelage were indeed privileged.
Amazing woman, such strength. I’m just heartbroken.
Rip justice Ginsberg
RIP Justice Ginsburg. Thank you for your many years of service on the bench.
R.I.P. - A very strong lady that fought off illnesses that would have done in the majority of us. A person I know distantly died just recently of pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed with stage 4 he just lived 2-3 months after the diagnosis.
She was a fighter
I am shocked. She fought cancer valiantly.
Rest well Justice Ginsberg.
My aunt had it a few years back. She made it only a short time after being diagnosed as well. Cancer sucks.
Rest in Peace. And many thanks for the years of service.

I’m going to paraphrase something that Navy members might recognize, I don’t claim it’s a good conversion, but it’s what I got:

For many years
This Judge has stood the watch
While some of us were in our beds at night
This Judge stood the watch
While some of us were in school learning our trade
This Judge stood the watch
Yes… even before some of us were born into this world
This Judge stood the watch
In those years when the storm clouds of controversy were seen brewing on the horizon of history
This Judge stood the watch
She stood the watch for many years
She stood the watch so that we, our families and
Our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety, Each and every night
Knowing that a Judge stood the watch
Today we are here to say
'Judge… the watch stands relieved
Relieved by those You have trained ,Guided, and Led
Judge you stand relieved… we have the watch…"

RGP, you were one tough bird.

Well said, shipmate.
Yes it is and pancreas cancer seems to be the worst in terms of taking one out the fastest.
Sorry for the loss of your aunt and prayers
