Actually, anonymous sources said nothing more than that Trump was not familiar with the name. The NBC story says nothing about Trump saying not to go after this guy. That appears to be added in by Business Insider.
The NBC article lists a couple of terrorists Trump approved to kill. It never says Trump was presented with this persons name to kill but did not approve.

According to the NBC story, he was on a list the CIA had of people they were trying to find. The article says nothing about Trump taking him off of that list. The CIA simply didn’t find him then. Do you seriously think it was Biden’s contribution as a sleuth that finally found him?
