Why are the Democrats pushing ahead with only candidiates promising an unpopular radical socialist agenda?

To support their globalist agenda!

Indeed. Ignore any bad news you hear about Trump in the meantime.

All the MSM puts out is bad news. A great deal of it lies and opinionated bias.

We quit listening long ago. Even before the 2016 election.

He did! It’s one of the reasons Trump won as there were enough voters across the land who knew what MAGA really meant (not the racist crap that MSM and Dems claim) and there was a chance to get there with Trump where there was no chance with Hillary.

Trump is President now because a lot of people who normally vote Dem couldn’t stand Hillary and either voted for Trump or stayed home. I am guessing a lot of those folks will be eager to vote against Trump this time. I don’t want to see Bernie or Warren get the nomination, but if they do, I am smart enough to know that most of the things they want to do they won’t be able to do even if they happen to also get the Senate and House because there are too many moderate Dems that don’t want to lose their seats.

A perusal of the last hundred years of American politics shows very clearly that the generation that comes of age during an economic collapse embraces more left leaning politics when they get older.

Guess who the 18-35 demographic, the Democrats’ most important demo is comprised of in 2020.

FTR, the vast majority of Democrats do not support “Socialism”.

Too many label well regulated capitalism with strong social support “Socialism” .

It’s not.

which is…what?

You mean lost decade under Obama?

It’s pretty obvious

What has Trump done that was radical?

Name em.

Extreme socialism is the authoritarian political model that is opposite to extreme individualism or libertarianism. The state or some other collective hegemony such as business leaders or technocrats controlling everything that you may eat, drive, say, buy, sell, own, and do, is extreme socialism.

So, you like the results of the Venezuelan transition from capitalism to socialism? You’d like to see that in the US.?

Maybe it will make sense to you after the 2020 election results come in.

What socialism? Where? And you prefer Trump’s fascism, then?

Not to mention the old angry white idiots that watch Fox News are dying off …

Ding Ding DIng… That is it exactly.

When “Socialism” has come to mean “What the man on the Radio has told me to be scared of” then it has lost meaning.

We have a mixed economy… as do all of the Western World to one degree or another. But people are still acting like the “Calculus of Consent” is still a valid argument on 100% of the issues.

Actually, a lot of them voted for Trump because he promised universal health care paid for by the government and taxes that he and his rich friends wouldn’t be happy with.

You’ve overlooked the actual reason. Populism: articulating and fighting for policies dealing with the actual concerns of the common man/ woman, whose needs have been ignored by career politicians whose primary focus has been political power for their own advancement, and social engineering.

I don’t care about Venezuela. Never have, never will.
The scary monster that AM radio has painted about socialism and marxism and communism has some people worried all the time. Thus why those people tune into AM radio, to hear that the ONLY solution is to vote Republican.
The US will always end up with a few more programs being run by government and in some cases, some programs will become privatized.

what policies are not popular?
