Simple question. Who has the power in the Democratic Party? Who is setting the agenda? Determining the direction?
Who does Biden have to have to get elected? Who’s key?

Who does Biden have to have to get elected? Who’s key?
Simple answer. The Democratic party votes on a party platform every four years. Typically at the national convention.
That’s not what I’m talking about and I think you know that.
This year the Vice President choice is less important than ever.

Interesting. Why?
The way Trump has made anything and everything into the the last 4 years into a personal issue has essentially turned the election into a referendum on him…You either want more Trump or you want him gone

Donald Trump.
He is the first, second, and third priority for those voting this year. VP doesn’t matter. Policy doesn’t matter. This is a referendum on a single individual, in a way that I can never recall in political history. Those voting for him and those voting to oppose him. It’s all about him. He sucks all of the oxygen out of the room, and the election is no different.
Trump controls both the Republican and Democratic parties. What he does the GOP supports and favors and the Dems oppose and claim the opposite side of the coin. No matter how hypocritical it makes either side look.
Good Lord man! Pay attention! Trump is not even a blip in the radar screen of what I’m talking about. I’m talking about power. Real power.
Wait. I can go vote at the convention for what’s going to be on the platform?

A lot that would appliy in a normal election has been thrown out the window for this one

The Party, not the people.
I don’t know how else to say it.
Somebody is guiding the DNC, it’s not ■■■■■■■ Trump. It’s not “we vote on it!” Not the kabuki, the power.
I thought it was people like Pelosi and Schumer, the old guard. But now I don’t think so anymore.

This.
The office of the President is not political power. Unless…
The democratic agenda proceeded President Trump. I feel there is more to it than being the anti-thesis to his agenda.
Of course there is.

Trump’s perfect storm of ineptness did the one thing that no political strategist has been able to figure out. He united the 2 factions of the Democratic Party as well as jettisoned all Republican dissenters into a coalition
The office of the President is not political power.
The primary agenda that is (or should be) set by the Democratic Party is to remove Trump from office in 4 months. What happens after that is a good question, but priorities should have them united in one mission right now.
We want to stop him from doing xyz so we can do abc. Why do we want to do abc and who determine that?

I do hope this is reflected at the ballot box in November.

Dude, you have got to get over this Trump thing.
Two factions? Which two factions? Who’s in charge of the two factions?

What happens after that has already been determined. What happens 5 from years from now has already been determined. Trump is a speed bump and Biden a tool.
