You didn’t provide any substance on why this person trying to stab a police was worth a city hundreds protesting and looting because was shot by the police yet the Babbitt lady had it coming, no protests for her. The event I spoke of happened it’s not my personal story you can read about it here. I was just curious on what the difference they both were shot by the police I think if you watch both videos of this one I posted and the video of Babbitt which was more of a threat to the police officer? Why did her life not matter to the protestors who protest it’s death by police?

That’s one side, now add the thickness of the other side? Also, what is she doing and where is she looking as a result of that? You were in denial of the framing and required a picture. Now I showed it to you, since you obviously couldn’t remember such important details when attempting to discern the truth and you still aren’t considering the whole?

Can always fire him and strip his pension at least. And I am not at all sure the trial would go the way you think it would either.

On what grounds. His employer already cleared him of wrong doing.

Under what cause of action would his pension be stripped. Capitol Police are federal employees under FERS which means you can’t just strip him of his retirement benefits. There would have to be a cause and a felony conviction.

I’m highly confident that charges brought years down the road for political reasons would result in no jury convicting him after the DOJ and an internal review already cleared him of wrong doing.

No, I don’t want revenge. In fact I have said several times in this thread that in my opinion the shoot may have been warranted for the simple fact that she was almost within range to take his gun. Others feel differently and a future congress, with different leadership of the capitol police and a future DOJ may also see it differently and bring it to trial.

Others feel differently and a future congress, with different leadership of the capitol police and a future DOJ may also see it differently and bring it to trial.

This is the fantasy part.

#1 Congress doesn’t bring charges to criminal trial.

#2 Capitol police leadership doesn’t bring charges to criminal trial, that would be the United States District Attorney’s Office.

#3 There will be no charges brought in future years even with a change in Congress and/or Capitol Police leadership.

#4 Even if it were, given that Lt. Byrd was already cleared by the Department of Justice and the Capitol Police investigation into the shooting, even if a future DA were to bring charges and it made it to a criminal trial there, is no way that a jury of 12 would convict under the reasonable person and the fact that the case was already cleared and only brought forward again for political reasons.

But “some” are still welcome to have their fevered dreams is that lets them sleep better at night.

That’s nice, I never claimed congress or the capitol police bring charges though. Which is why that part comes after I wrote DOJ.

When you are up close and your eye is very close to that impediment, it will block your view, especially when someone is that far to the left of you. Don’t forget to include the thickness of the glass? You saw how hard it was for a male, beating on it hard, to break it? She could not see the Byrd turd.

It’s possible. I don’t think you can be sure she didn’t see him. Between that and the yelling of “gun”, I think it probable that she knew of the officer’s existence.

Babbitt, a 35-year-old California native, and more than a dozen others appeared to be trying to get into the Speaker’s Lobby, a hallway that would have given them access to the House of Representatives chamber, according to a Post analysis of video footage and plans of the Capitol.

A second clip, recorded approximately three minutes before the shooting, appears to show lawmakers and officials in the Speaker’s Lobby, just yards from Babbitt and others trying to get through. Rep. James P. McGovern (D-Mass.), the chairman of the House Rules Committee, was one of those present, a spokesperson confirmed.
