What would our government do differently/better/cheaper if it controlled the entire health care market?

I like this…

It was “better and cheaper” for some people.

What criteria do you propose?

Do you know how medicare works?

Heaven forbid a brand new service not work 100% properly when it’s rolled out! Is this your first time on the internet?

Funny. You’re arguing that we pay more because we can afford it (lol) and that we are also more u healthy than these other countries. Is that really what you want to go with? Because it’s even more evidence we are doing it all wrong and/or completely contradicts the notion that healthcare is too expensive

Where I would prefer to get my medical care works for me.

Want to explain to me how our private insurance system is responsible for Americans eating too much at McDonalds?

Our obesity rates are only a few percentage points higher than some other developed nations. I’m sorry, but McDonalds isn’t why our system is at least twice as expensive as other nations.

Oversimplification.

You punted, as usual.

Why do so many people with Money from these other Developed countries come to the USA for upper level Healthcare related things? Why do these other countries have longer wait times than the USA for certain procedures?
Both sides have +/- to them.
Would you like to describe what you feel are better results?

And now the current system has made it more expensive for those that had insurance and better for those who didn’t have it or couldn’t afford it.

There’s one very sure way to make insurance cheaper.

Kick off the sick people off of it.

Yeah millions of dollars spent on the website in Oregon that never materialized. Where did all that money go and why don’t you people care?

Of course you do. Here you are in this very thread trying to rationalize a proposal you haven’t actually read… Very astute.

I didn’t say it was the entire reason, it was an example of one of the many reasons costs could be different that have nothing to do with public vs private.

That wasn’t a punt, you don’t get to choose what criteria matters to me in healthcare.
