What would our government do differently/better/cheaper if it controlled the entire health care market?

So what happens to those Cities and States?
They start to loose Garbage clean up, Plowed roads, We get Water issues like Flint, Crime like Chicago, Education funding drops.

So explain why the Government is better than private.
In private sector you have the option of taking your money and finding another provider of services.

Medicare can monitor where physical availability is low and supplements reimbursements to underserved areas. Not that big of a problem.

MDs can and do make plenty of money off Medicare.

The other thing they can do that not only helps underserved areas but people who have a hard time attending medical school is money to help with their schooling.

My doctor agreed to go to an area with doctor shortages and the government gave him about 40 grand towards his school.

Comparing government insured to those with no insurance… Well duh

Now let’s compare government insured to private insured and see who feels better about it

Magic. Obviously.

I have government and private insurance. I enjoy my government insurance far more.

You’re also in Canada. We’re talking about what’s being proposed in the US.

But single payer will be different because magic!

Medicare for all.

Something you guys do not take into consideration is one giant insurance pool means healthy people paying and not using.

And since it is funded by taxes you can tax those folks whose lifestyle habits are costing more a vat tax on the things they consume that drive up costs. Sort of like paying higher premiums.

Yeah. The same idea behind Obamacare and that worked oh so well in keeping costs down, didn’t it. Again, we’re not talking about Canada. We’re talking about the US government. If you have ever worked a government contract here, you’d understand our concerns with having our government trying to run it.

What options would that be?

The ACA was still private insurance companies and was not one large pool.

As for the rest of your post do you want cheese and crackers to go with the whine?

Do you always talk from a position of complete ignorance?

You think I’m whining? Not at all. I just know my own government far better than you do apparently. Maybe because you’re in Canada or something.

Why is it that we’ve always paid more than the rest of the developed world? By a significant amount. Without materially better results (and in some cases worse).

Maybe if a significant portion of our country didn’t constantly think government can do no good and elect representatives that think government can do no good and work their hardest to ensure that government can do no good, we’d have better government? Crazy thought, that.

We do have better results, just not better results using criteria you prefer to use to measure them.

The GOP: Constantly claim the government can do no good and then get elected and prove it.

In the aggregate? Hardly, and most certainly not anywhere in proportion to justifying a price tag of at least twice as much.
