There’s nothing inherently socialist about a universal health care system.
It’s precisely that market competition which promote innovation and change, all for the better.
You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. I don’t need an interpreter and if I did you aren’t qualified.
I asked a question and I’m still waiting on an answer.
Government taking over control of an entire industry, is not inherently a socialist concept? What is it to you then, just a common sense progression?
You his spokesman now?
You don’t pay for water and sewage?
Finally. So how does who owns the hospitals give medicare the advantage?
Then it’s not publicly funded. Which you did argue.
Sure and at the rate we’re going, future generations will work almost exclusively to pay for medical care in an effort to live forever. They’ll voluntarily enslave themselves to eke out another twenty years as decrepit senile old people. Or to put it another way, just because we can keep someone alive that the cost of a million dollars, doesn’t mean it is a wise use of our resources to do so. But all the do good people will insist it be done with ever more complex and expensive medical treatments until most of the economy is bent to support it, or we go broke trying.
I prefer we ration such cost with price and if you can’t afford it, you don’t get it. Liberals would prefer to make me a slave to pay for it for those who can’t pay for it themselves.
reflechissez:
You could pay out of pocket. No one is stopping you. It’s only a problem if you ever need medical care.
That’s the problem, people like you think either you buy insurance, or pay out of pocket directly.
Let me guess, you view our only options, as paying big insurance corporations, a complete government takeover with single payer insurance, or socialist universal health care fully taxpayer funded.
And your solution is…?
zantax:
So what? I bet we spend more on cars too. And concert tickets, and groceries. When people have more to spend, they spend more. We also have more health problems, obesity for example, that leads to more spending on healthcare too.
Nope I tend to buy tickets for concerts and sports in the US as it is cheaper.
Groceries are more expensive here but minimum wage is also 14 dollars an hour.
I said spend more, not cost more.
I am willing to consider single payer and even try it. But you libs have an idea, not a plan.
If I have to have insurance policies also, it’s not single payer any more, now is it?
Claiming we can do it like Norway or Sweden is horse hockey too. We might be able to get some ideas, but they are completely different from us.

When you are eligible for medicare, are you going to refuse it?

Of course you do. Here you are in this very thread trying to rationalize a proposal you haven’t actually read… Very astute.
I’m not actually trying to rationalize any specific proposal here… Medicare for all or any other proposal’s support won’t come from the members on hannity.com. It’s building with the millions of American’s who see the real results of our health care system today. They are the ones who will vote in members who will work to create a solution…

What does this have to do with the post you responded to?
Government is incapable of improving anything or doing it cheaper.
If I have to have insurance policies also, it’s not single payer any more, now is it?
Bingo. Half these guys don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. Last I checked there were 3 different bills (that never made it to a vote – yeah, they’re THAT bad) and none of them looks anything like what they think this is going to be.

It was a prediction of what they will vote for as a solution and my opinion of it. Why does this need to be explained to you?

Medicare is insurance. Are you complaining about paying for an additional policy if you want additional benefits?

You’re having an argument that no one is having. Carry on.
Medicare is insurance. Are you complaining about paying for an additional policy if you want additional benefits?
Is it still single payer?
I’m not complaining about anything. Do you have anything to contribute or are you just going to yap like always?
