Ok…so why all the hand wringing about teaching about the effects of slavery, and Jim Crow?
The common excuse that teaching that will make white kids feel guilty. Glad to see you disagree.

Specifics?
I think they want to believe that systemic racism ended when the Civil Rights Act was written in 1965.
And the Woke smiled…
No idea why they feel guilt. Maybe it is because they support who was/is on the wrong side of history on slavery since day one.
I do not feel guilty for slavery.
Progressives ended slavery…conservatives fought to keep it. Conservatives also created and justified Jim Crow. Most were Democrats.
The switch.
The “Theory”
Personally, I don’t believe any white person today actually feels guilt over slavery. What these few people feel is a need to appear more empathetic in order to place themselves on some emotional high horse. It’s a superiority issue.

My grandfather was integrating the Army in the early 50’s. He was the first enlisted white guy on Ft. Custer to serve in an otherwise black unit.
My great-great-grandfather - Sergeant Moses Johnson, Union Army - was freeing slaves back in the 19th century. With extreme prejudice. lol
American history is pretty damn awesome. Especially my family’s American history.
A lot of damage can be done by the tim
Self loathing white males pretending to be black don’t count.
