"Don’t Monkey with it” is not a common phrase? According to who? Oh, google is deciding what our common vernacular should and should not be?
Using the phrase “that’s hinky,” is not a common phrase to me. I was thirty years old the first time I heard someone use it. Google hinky, see what it says. You know what? It doesn’t matter to the people who use it, they think hinky is a common word.
Well every time a thread comes up on this forum regarding coded/covert racism there is a select group of cons that come and dismiss it.
Hell we had an entire thread on Trump saying the N word and the usual suspects came to defend him.
We had a thread on a Fox News contributor saying to a black person “you are out of your cotton picking mind”… the usual suspects came to defend or question the language.
So from my perspective, some cons on this board will only MAYBE see racism if it OVERT. Meaning some has to use the N word towards a black person WITH a specific tone. Some has to lunch a black person WITH a full understanding of what lynching is. Someone had to have owned slaves.
The usual suspect will parse anything about racism of the right to make it less so. This thread and many other so that to be true.
Btw you are a part of the usual suspects on this issue.
It’s funny how some white people (mostly Trump supporters) can’t comprehend that black people just might have the ability to accurately determine which of us are racist or not.
…and there are a bunch of people who see everything thru their rainbow tinted glasses that see bigotry behind every rock, and everything someone says becomes a covert dog whistle for racism.
