So what, no one I hang out with uses the phrase, so to me it’s not common, it’s extremely rare. Like I said, why should we use Google to decide what words should be a part of our vernacular?

Something completely obvious to the easily offended. Like if a parent were to come home from work, and there was a birthday party going on in his house with a bunch of screaming five years olds. And the parent blurts out “it sounds like a barrel full of monkeys in here,” and one or more of the kids is not white. Duh-da…dummmmmmm.
They think it makes them look edgy and non PC. Kinda pathetic actually.

A general rule of thumb is that you shouldn’t be more outraged at a comment than the target of said comment. If Gillum took it personally then it should matter, but if he didn’t then we can let it go on a moral level. What’s incredible is these supposed adults pretending they’ve never heard the term monkey in any racist connotation before. It’s embarrassing.

I like how they’re ignoring the actual African Americans posting in this thread saying it’s offensive. I’m more sure than ever that the response to an “N-word” tape will be “I’m not offended by it, I don’t understand why anyone else is. You’re just playing the race card!”

Well the way Trump mocked that disabled journalist was abominable whether the journalist was outraged or not, so I can’t say that I agree with your personal rule.

DeSantis said “the last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting this state. That is not going to work. It’s not going to be good for Florida.”
