Not sure how I feel about this particular dopamine rush. lol
Mostly been replaying Chrono Cross (one of my favorite games of all time; first played it back on PS1 way back in 2000) and also playing Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 (I’m a Tetris fanatic, but I also enjoy Puyo Puyo as well). And I finally broke down and bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because my girlfriend insisted I get a game she could play that wasn’t called Mario Party. Thankfully it finally went on sale for once so I didn’t pay full price for it. I also finished up Tactics Ogre Reborn a week ago.
My PS5 is being used solely for daily Call of Duty challenges right now since I burned myself out on Diablo IV. Waiting on Final Fantasy XVI to go on sale.
Although I have been considering picking up a used copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 and finally finishing that game. I put 30 hours into it back when it launched on PS4 but life changes put that on hold. I sold it and never got back to it. I think I need to finish it.
I will be buying RDR 1 for my Switch when the physical port comes out on October. I have RDR 2 on my X but never finished it.
Not seen that before. Looks amazing.
I had RDR1 on 360 back in the day. It was the last game I had on 360 actually; it was my fourth and it RRODed again and after I got a new one I sold it for a PS3.
RDR1 is literally one of my favorite games of all time and it’s my favorite western related media story of all time. Rockstar did a fantastic job telling a story set in the twilight years of the Old West, when it was clearly dying and being pushed out by the 20th century’s numerous societal changes.
Plus John Marston was such a good protagonist. You sympathize with him the entire time, but you know that he has a very dark past and done some ■■■■■■ up stuff as an old outlaw. His story of redemption is good not just in gaming terms, but in terms of media in general.
That’s why I need to finish RDR 2. Arthur is just as compelling a protagonist as Marston was.
That’s really my favorite part of history. The transitional periods in societies. So the transition of the old west into the modern west that was forced on those people back in the early 20th century has always fascinated me. Rockstar picked the right period to set both games in.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition
100% main game completion on the first go. A very fun and well thought out game, but a bit too easy for a Metroidvania. IMO Shantae and The Pirate’s Curse was decidedly more challenging.
The alternate story and game modes look like they’ll make up for the shortcomings.
I just finished this game when it came up on PlayStation plus earlier this year. Played on my PS5. That game is incredible and graphics still hold up after all of these years.
Now I’m just exploring different corners of the game and fighting outlaws lol
I am 10 hours in… amazing game so far. Took a minute to understand how to jump from planet to planet…
About 40 hours in and I agree, fantastic game.
Completed Hardcore Mode. It wasn’t really much more difficult than the original mode. Just more enemies. Had I know there was no achievement for finishing it with a 100% completion rate, I wouldn’t have bothered.
Smoked the Pirate Queen’s Quest in 3.5 hours with a 100% completion and zero upgrades. Got a few achievements for that. On to the alternate game modes.
