Right now there seems to be lots of concern about Lifecare center with possibly 50 people infected between patients and staff.
And that is just the issue in this debate. African healthcare sucks compared to US healthcare. There is no comparison. The infrastructure and medicine and medical knowhow just isn’t there.

In 1918 people didn’t even understand basic Hygiene much less have access to all of the preventive measures information available to everyone today.
In 1918 only the most basic quarantine and isolation protocols had been developed.
In 1918 they didn’t even have medicines available to effectively treat the symptoms or to even provide IV Fluids to patients that became dehydrated.
They certainly didn’t have the kind of quarantine procedures and equipment that could prevent those attending the sick from becoming sick themselves spreading it to the rest of the staff and everyone they came in contact with.

I certainly don’t blame trump for starting this virus. And I commend him for banning travel to and from china early.
However, the other things listed above, IMO are mistakes.

That sounds like an absolute worse case scenario…hoping for the best for all effected.
There seems to be lots of mistakes on all sides. But biggest mistake may very well be China.

A worst case scenario would be hundreds or thousands of people coming into the US with it undetected and not being quarantined.
We’ve seen nothing close to a worst case scenario here in the US.
A nursing home actually provides a near idea place to get people into immediate quarantine to keep it from spreading.
