Trumps administration pandemic response

The lethal form of the Spanish Flu was the second wave … the first wave was fairly mild, causing few deaths. But regardless, there are numerous accounts where individual communities enforced strict quarantine of sick people and prohibition on public gatherings, including churches, which ended new cases leading to the end of the epidemic within 2-3 weeks in those communities. New cases of the COVID19 in China are already diminishing since they imposed such measures. I expect the same will be true in most places where the outbreak is taken that seriously.

The big unknown is how the virus will mutate, it could go either way. And if it mutates into a more communicable and/or more deadly form, things could go from bad to worse in a hurry.

Yeah, no ■■■■■ One of the three dumbest things I’ve heard all weekend.

To the bolded, if it does so it will become self limiting and the outbreak will be over much quicker.

Bad for those affected, good for the rest.

What were the other 2

More people sick in a shorter amount of time may be self-limiting, but it would not be a good thing.

The outbreak burning itself out quickly is a good thing for the population as a whole.

Bad for those who get the more virulent strain but in the long run a benefit to the whole.

Well, if its for the greater good, I’m willing to die …

Like I said, bad for the individual, but in the end a benefit to the whole.

Mother nature is a cruel, heartless bitch.

That’ll be just thing to calm down the “hype”.

What? Me dying? Don’t be silly. I could go at any moment from a whole host of causes. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Take your sarcasm meter in for repair, it doesn’t seem to be working. :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s another reason why this virus will probably spread uncontrollably… People are stupid.
From a different board:

They had a story on the local news about the nursing home in Kirkland where the four people have tested positive for the CoVid 19. There are signs all over the place that say “No Visitors Allowed”. They interviewed a woman who had just gone in to visit her mother. She said, “Well, the doors weren’t locked.”

He will not be doing the actual technical research involved.

Well thankfully, we can pray that is not the case. There is no “cure” for a virus like this. You can treat the symptoms, and you can create a vaccine, but you cannot cure it. This is irresponsible rhetoric coming from the President. Would you agree?

There is neither a vaccine nor a cure. If someone listened to what he tweeted and changed their action some way in expectation of there being a cure, then you might call it irresponsible. Since no one is likely to have done that, there is no harm…just possible fodder for the Trump haters at most.
There are antiviral medicines, btw.

And there will never be a cure. Hence how this is irresponsible rhetoric coming from the POTUS.

Have you seriously not been paying attention to the millions, literally millions, of Americans who proudly state they only get their “news” or information from Trump himself?

Completely naive and shows a total lack of understanding of the millions of Americans who fully admit to only using Trump as their direct source of information.

TDS! Should have known.

MUST. DEFEND. TRUMP!!!

There is no cure for Coronaviruses.

It is generally irresponsible to listen or take what President Trump says seriously so honestly you have a point. Who ever takes their medical advice from him is being foolish.
