Trump and First Lady tested positive for Covid-19

Again…people wear masks to protect others…it isn’t there to protect the wearer. That has been said again and again and again.

You already explained why.

I can agree with this but to call those doctors liars which is what some are suggesting, is over the top IMO. They aren’t part of the administration. To keep pushing the docs are lying and the video was prerecorded is just silly.

Some may suggest they are lying. Others may say they are offering the most optimistic version of truth, which has less to do with Trump than it does the simple fact that he is POTUS.

Indoors in a crowd would not be one of those times where it would be advisable to take off the mask, as Tillis did.

All this deflection rather than admit the obvious. Your statement that Tillis caught COVID despite wearing a mask is now shown to be wrong. He had his mask off at precisely the time his odds of catching COVID was very high.

Why is this so difficult to just admit?

I did? Where?

Mid-80s blood-ox, if accurate, is highly concerning.

Psssh, that ain’t nothing. Go on Twitter, look up “hang Ilhan Omar”, and see how many responses you get.

Dr. Conley is the White House physician. He was appointed by Trump in 2018.

From a straight up political perspective it would likely be bad news for Dems if Trump died.

When you are leading the last thing you want is an unpredictable element to be introduced into the race.

Has this administration strong armed other agencies to push a narrative? They sure have with the CDC and the FDA. I would not put it passed them to be doing the same here.

He did no one favors with a statement like this, "I didn’t want to give any information that might steer the illness in another direction."

I’m sure he’ll be back on the campaign trail tomorrow though.

Referring to Democrats and their available timeline to begin rolling back Trumpist policies.

They are under no obligation to be honest with us and we shouldn’t pretend they are. More evasion and omission of fact than straight up lies though.

True as far as it goes but I think people overstate the concern here. Pence has all the charisma of a brick wall. He has none of Trump’s original crossover appeal. He’s a key part of the administration that ■■■■■■ things up to where we are now as a country and with the president in the hospital getting experimental treatments. Seems just as likely that Pence taking over would be even worse for Republicans.

Absolutely. “Don’t lie, but make it look good. Avoid the whole truth if you have to.”

This would be standard for any POTUS, not just Trump. His unquestionable habit of lying with nearly every breath he can muster doesn’t help things here, however.

1 month to 4 years regardless

I saw a funny/interesting take on that on Twitter. Contrary to the bravado he tries to project publicly Trump is incredibly physically cowardly. He’s germaphobic, afraid of stairs, and just generally terrified of death. There’ve been reports for months that he was terrified about the possibility of getting covid and that when he tested positive and started showing symptoms it gave him serious anxiety. Conley trying to spin things positively on TV may be because he literally can’t tell Trump how serious his condition is or it may cause him to decompensate and end up getting much sicker.

I think the fact he not tweeting speaks volumes too. My dad is also 74 and is currently in rehab for a knee injury. He’s texted me every 30 minutes since 7:30 this morning because he’s bored. If Trump was feeling well, he’d be tweeting.
