To My Republican Friends

2022 seats up favor Democrats. Senate Seats up in 2024 heavily favor Republicans.

It will start when he treats some Republican Senators as the friends they probably are. That will certainly inflame some on the left - too bad!

Fair point.

I haven’t bought a gun in 20 years or so…I already have tools I need for whatever job their is. Not because I’m doomsday person…because they’re just tools that I need for work/job.

I don’t think it can be fixed, you can’t please everyone.

Same way the Republicans.

The left made a critical mistake lumping all Hispanic voters into a monolithic block, take a gander at the minority vote gains despite the Most-Racist-President-of-All-Time™ at the top of the ticket. There’s REAL opportunity here and despair isn’t the way.

The future is fine. What is off topic is the drama.

My stance exactly. I may live in Texas, but I don’t have a gun rack in a truck. I’m fully cognizant that I’m likely violating state mandates and numerous intersectional norms.

I still firmly believe Biden will be a puppet, controlled by Kamala Harris and her radical minions. They will do what it takes to ensure Rebublicans never again regain control. IMHO

Oops, you are correct. But does that hold true if two new states are put into play?

Ok, so what does that tell us about the future. Think big picture, what was the real mistake and how do we adjust next time?

These are senate seats that’s up in 2024.

Notice the Rustbelt states. Pa, Ohio, Mich, Wis, Minn, WV and Montana.

See where I’m going here?

Good point Doug. Now think strategy. What do you do next time?

Their big problem is they have ignored certain constituencies for years, taking for granted their allegiance.

Ignoring that subgroups are always switching parties at key moments.

Ignoring the very real problems these constituencies have by not engaging with them in any meaningful way allows others to swoop in with their own messaging.

Trump won many of these groups over with a very left-leaning populism couched in right-wing fear-mongering, scapegoating trappings.

And it worked because the Dems let it work.

Maybe conservatism as it was defined yesterday is dead. What can we do about it?

If Puerto Rico vote to become a state, that may happen even if Republicans retain the Senate. Personally, if Puerto Rico gets to have a vote by the population I think the US should get a popular vote on that too, before it happens…but we will see.
DC is established by the Constitution. Even if Democrats take the Senate, I don’t see that happening. That is right up there with packing the courts…or worse.
In fact, without packing the courts first I think such a ploy would be ruled unconstituional.

The big mistake was never Trumpers believing America would welcome true conservatives with open arms following DEM rule. They failed to consider what DEMs would do to ensure they hold onto the reins indefinately.

It’s not really heavy, but yes. There are 3 classes. Part of having the majority is having the larger classes.

That is not the whole landscape.

Those gains aren’t real. Exit polls conducted at the polling site do not reflect the mail in voting block. Which was massive for Democrats.

Yes! Pelosi called him a uniter this morning. He sold himself as such. Harris has said it repeatedly.

What happens when he tries it?
