I see the totality of my post was given the attention and consideration I expected, even if not what I had hoped for. So be it.

No. I’m not talking about the Macy’s windows. We were directly warned about mentioning the Trump charity case. Which was an integral part of the discussion. @hwyflier even started a CF thread asking why his post to Conan was moved, when it was topical, relevant, furthered the discussion. The only explanation was it was “trolling” because it mentioned Trump. The same as your “mod note” in the thread.

Which was placed immediately after me and brouski had a back and forth about the Trump charity in relation to the NRA situation. No trolling there at all. But a reprimand for it nonetheless.

It went from a claim about the Trump case to a completely different argument between two people in the middle of the thread about the NRA. A good thread.

If you want to argue about the Trump charity case, go start a thread on it and argue away.

When you turn every single thread into a Trump thread, there’s going to be some of it.

If I’m not interested in a diversion, I scroll on by. Easy.

It is an insulting name. A lack of comprise with an accepting forum for trolling and ribbing political discourse seems by design to demotivate most members from posting ever again. Is that the end goal here? It seems to be working.

I find it hard to disagree, but everybody isn’t doing it.

Forum was never this rabid before…nor did they have flagging issue either.

Why I see it. We use to be able to go 100 posts before getting distracted. Now we can’t even get to 10 it seems.

Like I said. Clear as mud. You’ve just created a brand new, subjective rule out of thin air based on your (or another mod’s) feelings at the time.

It’s your forum. We have to abide by your decisions if we want to be here. I’ll accept this new micromanaging moderation if I want to be here.

But please understand from my perspective, which I believe is shared by a large number of people here, there is no understanding of what you guys are subjectively deciding is “trolling” versus legitimate discussion. It seems that discussing Trump is the line of demarcation though. As if he is now a quasi-protected topic.

Pull up threads from the beginning of this new forum. There was no babysitting, there were diversions, there were insults.

Meh. I ate my first 24 hour TO in 14 years without warning or discussion. Motive was imputed to me without seeking clarification, or offering opportunity for it. Resultingly, I’m out. I won’t be posting in any thread except for the most light hearted. I have no interest in being moderated by pretended mind and intent readers.
