The features I hope get added

Oh that HannityLand. lol

How does the flagging work? Something i would rarely consider but i read in the case of a particularly bad hominum attack simply flag the post. However no explanation of how to do so is offered.

Basically like report a post over on the old forum. You’ll get a message from the mod that deals with it.

Just click the flag (on the post I’m quoting – flaggin your own post) then go through the process and see how it works

Looks like a certain post has been deleted anyway.

Soooo … it still exists.

Maybe we could access it through the dark web and bring it back to life.

I can identify with that…

Is there any way you can make replying to someone default to include the quote?

It’s a real pain trying to follow some conversations when people are too lazy to click the quote button.

In those cases, you can see the whole conversation thread by clicking on the avatar of the person that was quoted.

And if there is no avatar, then you know the person replied to the post directly above it.

Now I don’t know the code or program of the board, but this is my observation. Click the reply button and this is what I notice.

If your reply is the next post, it doesn’t put the little icon in the corner showing the post quoted. If there are posts between your reply and the one your quoting it put’s a little icon up in the corner (this one should have it).

If you highlight and hit quote, it puts it all in a reply box then you can start typing after.

Any way to add pages, rather than the endless scrolling?

Not always. I (and others) reply to the previous post without quoting as a short cut to make an independent post.

Negative. Pagination isn’t part of the Discourse API.

My phone has a really hard time scrolling through long threads. I usually just give up. It’s probably just my phone but it does fine on other sites

What do you mean it has a hard time?

It locks up, won’t scroll up or down, all the middle posts disappear, can’t easily jump to the beginning or end of a long thread.

Weird. What kind of phone is it?

Old. Motorola something. But it works fine on all other sites.

So if a thread has say 200 posts in it you can easily scroll to let’s say post #121? Or scroll easily to the end? Or back to post #1 to reread the OP? I can’t do any of that once a thread gets longer than about 40 or so posts.
