There are tens of thousands of Sudanese immigrants already living in this country. What do you want, for all of them to live here? Because that’s what you are really saying when you suggest that Sudanese whose lives are in danger should be given sanctuary here.
Under United States law, a refugee is someone who: Is located outside of the United States. Is of special humanitarian concern to the United States. Demonstrates that they were persecuted or fear persecution due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.
It would appear that the Afrikaners are indeed being targeted based on their race. The problem with the other countries is that it’s definitely harder to demonstrate refugee status for people who are in countries that are ethnically and socially monolithic.
If the administration had said “In addition the refugees being resettled from refugee camps full of people from South Sudan etc… We are going to start accepting refugees from SA under the same system” and made the case I’m sure people would have thought it a good plan.
Is there a single universal motive for murder in South Africa, committed by the same individual or group? Who killed the white victims and why? Who killed the black victims and why? What profiles are shared by the victims and where do they differ? Try actually making an analysis before issuing a vapid opinion.
