Police just arrested 57 white supremacists in huge criminal bust

I asked what it means to you. How could i possibly know that in advance?

Oh, they were definitely part of another country (the Confederate States of America). But the CSA defenders can’t give an inch.

Mind you don’t crawfish into something. You don’t see how Missouri is relevant to the civil war? Actually both states did vote to secede and had two governments.

Ponder this.
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. JFK.

Eventually it will probably happen again.

Scanning this, it appears that a thread about crazed bottom class drug dealers somehow morphed into a discussion of the Confederacy. That is just too weird to even imagine.

It’s what we do here.

How would you like to be a 2018 defender of people who fought so they could continue to buy and sell children? That’s like people in a hundred years defending Somali pirates.

Are you serious? Are you talking about the guys with torches chanting anti-Semitic and anti-minorities crap?

Of course it did.

Missouri was never part of the confederacy. The vote for secession in Missouri was not legitimate and the Confederate government was maintained in exile and completely powerless.

Getting back to my original point, is that the confederate states, by and large, operated on democratic (for the time) representation and had substantial public support.

Some states had larger contingents of dissent than others, but there was, by and large, public support for secession based on the ideals of maintaining slavery for themselves.

umm
 no. And neither was Trump.

weird that a thread about 57 white supremacists being arrested for drug trafficking/kidnapping/chopping off people’s fingers/felony burglary turned into a thread about the pros/cons/motivations of the Confederate States of America.

well first it was about how white supermcist are not Republicans.

LOL. Missouri was home to some of the worst of the Confederacy. The civil war started in Missouri and Kansas in 1858. Not in South Carolina.

Some did, some didn’t. As I have now taught you. It followed the cotton, which followed the water. It is more complex than you are attempting to make it out.

It also had to do with culture. Mountain folk in those states such as Tennessee hated the southern land owners.

Same in Texas. Everything west of the Luling fault and balcones escarpment wanted nothing to do with it.

Same with German and Czech settled areas between Houston and Austin.

How are people supposed to get over historical events that shape their present and their future?

my family was forced to JUST DO IT.
No one exploited us, made us victims, and removed our God given incentive to work for our bread like libs have done with black people. So
my family had the luxury of being ignored by the Democrats. We had to work. And now
my generation, 2nd after my grandfather who was born into Ottoman slavery, was the first to go to college. I manage and struggle and don’t blame anyone for that struggle. I did have a short period of unemployment
small daughter and wife without health insurance. We lived carefully. I took no government welfare. And today we are proud of that as I have a job that puts me in the top 5 percent
 roughly.

You put the historical events where they belong
 behind you.

You re-write them.

There are good people on both sides.

lol. was a bigoted post.

it’s really easy

  • Liberal Democrats in the South had slaves
  • Conservative Republicans ended slavery
  • The Civil War wasn’t about slavery
  • The Federal Government was evil
  • Conservative Republicans in the South (now) want Confederate Monuments
  • The Civil War wasn’t about slavery
  • Heritage Baby!!

And blacks were treated just as badly in much of the north following the war as they were in much of the south so climb down off of that high horse.
