Bush first
this is a compromise. biden can have his student loan give away so long as he pays for it with university endowment money
Bush signed TARP into law
And if you don’t believe them, just ask about their internal reviews and you’ll clearly see they’ve never done anything wrong. ![]()
“this just in….we’re perfect”
it is akin to taking out an SBA loan so you can get rich and when you only get to upper middle class expecting the government to tax your customers to pay off your loan
Yes Bush did,
who was in charge of congress and Senate again?
Yes Bush did,
who was in charge of congress and Senate again?
Obama?
But seriously… the TARP bank bail out was a bipartisan bill and passed by both parties.
The universities will most likely raise their tuition prices to offset student debt relief which means the students will gain nothing at all.
The taxpayers will still get screwed however. ![]()

So why blame Bush?
then double the endowment tax and do it again. keep doing it until they stop!

I was responding to someone who laid the blame solely on Obama.
Having an educated and skilled populace is a net benefit to all.
Having indoctrinate mindless minions only benefit libs.

Was he talking about TARP?
Did he blame only Obama like you did Bush?
Did Obama have GOP support?
the answer to all 3 of those questions is no. and i’ll be the first person to tell you i loved bush for 6 years and hated him for 2. you know which 2

We made a profit of 121 billion on it. Not a fan personally but what’s your complaint?
Yes, most of the right thinks Bush betrayed US… But the left never complains about their leadership. They just do what ever the TV says. You could have 500 people die in Chicago and the voting dems just yawn!
I’ve never seen a single leftist on these boards EVER disagree with any Democratic policy or politician, even when failures are actually covered by the national press.

everyone loves free money. that’s why democrats buy votes that way
Is there a way to support welfare without being accused of that? Or is it no-win?
there definitely is. welfare should be used for actual “relief” (which in some cases it is colloquially called) for those who need it vs a pre-midterm vote buying scheme where something someone purchased by choice expecting to pay for it themselves is paid off by mommy democrats.
But even before this whole college loan thing was introduced y’all accused the Democrats of buying votes via their support of welfare programs.
that’s because to great degree it is true.
So you claim. And whether or not its true to any degree is pointless because regardless the accusation will be levied.

Why don’t you admit where you’re really going with this … free secondary education for all.
That would be an awesome thing… but we won’t do it.
As a country we used to subsidize college a lot more. That got cut waaaay back and the result is piling debt onto people. That is obviously failing an entire generation.
Correcting the course and not making it worse has to happen at some point.
This is an action that will make millions of people’s lives less crappy and be a net positive to the nation as a whole.
We all know this… which is why the only argument against it is to depict it as unfair to plumbers.
At least you’re no longer trying to hide your stripes …
I have never hidden anything.
Eduction should be heavily subsidized. Helping out actual people instead of funneling resources to corporations is a thing that I believe government should do.
Have you never denied you are a Socialist? That’s the stripes I’m referring to.
But given the way you spelled “education” I can see why you think you need yours subsidized. ![]()
