One thing sad about a Biden win

He will do it so the rubes will pay for the ego stroking he so desperately seeks. Mark my words, this monster is not going away quietly.

You have hit the nail on the head. The president should be a steady, calming, reassuring presence. We should not have to guess what ■■■■ he’s going to pull next, like an episode of "Jackass’.

Well they’ll have to arm wrestle Ben Sasse.

So you’re just going to ignore the deaths, food lines, staggering unemployment, and crisis level homelessness in trump’s America?

Conveniently laughable.

Exactly. If Biden wins, we’ll actually have a president that recognizes that there is a pandemic that we’re dealing with, and will work with the scientific community to help resolve it rather than trying to ignore it and work against the scientific community’s efforts to resolve it.

I am not expecting a wand waved and everything is better. That is magical thinking. I am looking forward to improving issues. I am not expecting perfection. Things evolve. Social Security looked really different then it does today, for example women were not allowed to claim old age benefits. Job categories like farm hands, teachers and government employees were not covered.

We’ll see how he feels when flocks of process servers are stalking him across the country. He’s look at getting handed like a half dozen civil subpoenas minimum on January 21st.

Exactly, Biden will be saying and doing the bidding of others.

I have a sneaky suspicion that he’ll leave the country.

I don’t see that happening. He seems to live in a dark fantasy world where he is untouchable.

The appeal for me is that VP Biden won’t “go at it alone”. Last night he stated that he wasn’t a scientist and that he would get the best and brightest on staff (paraphrasing). He’s not claiming to be a genius who knows everything about everything. He wasn’t my first choice, but not my last, either. But now, the choice comes down to two individuals. When I compare and contrast, there’s no contest.

Ben Sasse will be brow beaten by Trump and QAnon to the point he quits. He will announce then promptly bow out. Trump will demand that one of his kids be the R nominee.

Now you know that none of this is Trump’s fault. Its liberals, and antifa and BLM, and Hunter Biden’s fault.

Trump is just a victim.

I suspect the R idiots in Congress (who will be in the minority in both chambers) will stomp their tiny feet and yell SOCIALISM! all day every day.

Great post

He’d be too busy re-politicising government departments and using them to quietly destroying his political opponents, and making deals that will enrich his family. Until he needed to pay the piper. Then the CCP would have him replaced by a more useful idiot.

That is one great point. Honestly, he never really liked the job he liked the rallies. Now he can do them for 4 straight years. Hell, I remember he was throwing reelection rallies 1 month after he was sworn in. The guy just loves the attention.

You must not have watched many of his campaign events, were they were all chanting “Build the wall”. I personally would have been happy with everify but none of that is going to happen.

Yes but Biden he has a record it should be easy to pick out things you like about him rather than he will pick good people.

I will start
Biden supported
The wars of Serbia, Montenegro, Syria, Iraq and Libya.

And to the OP, don’t be sad about Biden winning. True, there won’t be this level of excitement, but some professions aren’t about personality and drama, they are about competence. If I need a surgeon and I have my choice between some meth head with wife problems and another guy who just knows how to do his job and lives an ordinary life, I want that boring guy.

Sure, the conversations with the meth head are going to be more entertaining, but I don’t want to put my life in his hands.

And that is what the Presidency represents, he or she has our lives in their hands. No drama, no craziness, just competence and stability please.

There are things I am looking forward to in a Biden Presidency, but they are not sexy things.

  1. I really want a public option that all Americans can access, that will solve a LOT of problems.
  2. I really want kids who come from modest means to have a chance to get free job training or community college.
  3. I think we need to modernize our electric grid, he wants to do that and that is going to be transformative for our country.
  4. I think it will be great to have a woman finally break the barrier and become Veep. Harris is a solid choice, very smart person and very competent
  5. I think it will be great to take our place as the leader of the free world again and fight the rising tide of authoritarianism.
  6. I think it will be great to recognize the importance of not only the independence of the Justice Department but also the vital role our State Department can play, both of these organizations have been decimated by Trump.
  7. I think Biden will get a handle on COVID quick and we can return to our normal lives.
  8. I think Biden will do a better job managing the budget and setting about fairer tax policies for the middle class.
  9. I think Biden will restore collegiality and compromise to an otherwise broken political system, he is well known and regarded for it.

Are those as exciting as building some big useless wall?

Maybe you don’t. But I do.
