Ok to kill Bald Eagles if you’re an illegal?

Disagreed. Nothing wrong with burning a flag, either.

That didn’t happen here. These guys were arrested, same as you and me-a little over a week ago. You guys ©️ are seeing “migrant” and flipping your lids.

Nothing has yet happened indicating favorable treatment for these two.

Arrested locally but typically the feds would charge you as well. From the op article.

The migrants were arrested but have since been released. The federal government could have kept the pair in jail, but Unger’s calls to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - which would be the federal agency to bring charges against someone for violating the 1940 Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act - have gone unanswered.

The Feds took a pass on charging them. If that were an American, do you think they’d get the same treatment?

Can’t read the article because it wants my email but the headline is relevant on its own.

It’s been just over a week, be patient.

And yes, I have every reeason to believe an American wouls receive the same treatment. Symbology aside, this is a low level crime.

You are allowing yourself to be manipulated

The Feds aren’t going to charge them. What is there to wait for?

The feds never move as quickly as locals. Never.

Illegal aliens, illegally armed, illegally hunting.

The gun was illegal?

Well it’s not illegal, but there is plenty wrong with it.

We do not hunt and eat our national symbol. Otherwise, we would have gone with the turkey.

Last I checked, the Eastern Bluebird is protected in Missouri as well, because of its symbolism.

The Eagle may be off the endangered species list but that wouldn’t last very long if it was legal to hunt them. So it’s not just about symbolism. They are slow breeders, can’t sustain hunting them.

I don’t disagree. I don’t care if they’re endangered or not though. They are to be protected, especially from burro hats that don’t belong here in the first place.

Agreed. I may have been too flippant with my answer

The symbolism ties into why they would be hunted to extinction if it were legal, gives their stuffed bodies more monetary value.
