Yes…if a ballot is postmarked by Election Day, it counts. That is the usual consistent method.
In before “but postmarks can be faked”.
PS this has been the method for mail in ballots in many states for years. In the past the deadline was usually shortly before Election Day but still…
The thing that really needs to be done is to allow early and mail in votes to be counted ahead of Election Day. That can easily be done and in a double blinded fashion so the results can’t be known ahead of time by anyone.
Yes, you are reading that wrong.
In its decision, the court’s majority held that ballots postmarked by the time polls close in Pennsylvania on Nov. 3 and received by county election boards by 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 must be counted.
That’s the absentee ballot criteria.
Pennsylvania Court: Ballots Received Three Days After Election Must Be Counted – DV Journal
Am I reading this wrong then?
OK I’m not sure I’m liking the idea of accepting without a postmark.
I suppose it’s because there are satellite drop boxes where the ballot envelopes wouldn’t receive a postmark, but not sure how one could be able to tell when a non-postmarked ballot was cast.
I think you are just not reading it.
In the article. Bold mine

Edit -I see that the non postmarked ballots must be counted -Unless evidence shows its after election day. So this isnt allowing them -its just assuming they were done unles shown otherwise. hmmm
THIS will be the basis of one of Norm Eisen’s court filings challenging the results of the election.

The article went further and said ballots without a postmark could also be accepted unless there was a “preponderance of evidence” they were cast after November 3.
Not sure how they would figure that out.
Thanks. Didn’t soak in when I read it. Old brain matter and why supplements like “Prevagen” don’t have guarantees.

Collection times from the post office.
thinkingman: tzu:Trump loyalists are all in on treating a very old, established, traditional method of voting as a scam, just because Donny From Queens has tweeted at them about it.
bs
never were widespread ballots on this scale used in an election
that stupid narrative’s dead
what’s next in the chamber of robot talking points?
The “scale” they are used on is irrelevant. The system has been in place as long as I can remember. We’re in a pandemic situation - so it only makes sense that people would be using them with higher frequency this time around.
Trump, as usual, tries to turn everything into some grand conspiracy.
We (as America) used to be touted as the country that could do almost anything. Now we’re reduced to being a third-rate country that can’t handle mail in ballots.
WCD9973:There is not a single state that i am aware of that allows any voting after election day. Not 1.
Every signle one of these is simply about giving time to receive votes that were cast and mailed by election day.How is that determined by these states and is it the same consistent methodology?
How are you possibly that uninformed that you don’t know that by now?
When I voted with absentee ballot it had to be postmarked and received before Election Day to be counted. That was a mail in ballot. There are states that have had mail in voting for years, the ballots are in before election night to be counted.
Why should there be extensions and exceptions? Voters wanting to vote by mail simply should mail them in by a certain date that will insure they’re received timely to be counted!
These extensions are suspicious. The Dims have expressed intentions to use the courts to challenge unfavorable election results. In the days and weeks following Nov. 3rd we might see civil unrest and courthouse speeches by agitators. There’s been public officials calling for the physical removal of the President by the military??
Madness
yep!
suspicious indeed.
glad someone else realizes.
i still say ballots received after nov 4 are trashed. (give it one day)
improperly filled out ones too
that settles all the chaos that is surely coming after election day
You don’t have a say in the matter

oh dont you worry yourself over how they “know” such things. they just do

I have no problem with any voter requesting an absentee ballot that’s provided proof they are who they say they are. It’s mailing out ballots that were not specifically requested, that I have a serious problem with.
Yet I’ve never heard a single conservative complain about Utah who have been doing it that way for years.

So you opened the mail, paid whatever bills were due, read whatever birthday cards were sent, took the money from the cards? Read the magazines?
Or did you walk over to your neighbor and hand-deliver it or put it in their mailbox?
