Again…refusing to accept any responsibility.
and democrats raise spending, raise taxes, and then raise spending some more.
I guess thats the two santa’s and one scrooge theory
I don’t think you know what that term means. Shall I type slower?
Seems like you are not aware of the 2 santa claus theory…
Insult away…it’s all you have since you can’t take any responsibility.
We don’t really get overtime(at least where I am and I’m salary) but for above and beyond work or taking on additional responsibilities outside of your agreed upon position/salary we get “Additional Pay”.
How does paying an employee time and one half IN FULL without the employer deducting federal taxes cost anyone anything?
State and local taxes will most likely be deducted, except here in Florida and a handful of other states, no state income tax.
sure, and you are unaware of the 2 santa’s and one scrooge theory
Tell me when liberals cut taxes in the last 40 years. Liberals not Democrats…
I am not making mine up…
somebody did, and you regurgibleat it. Or does it escape you that for something to be a thing in the first place somebody, somewhere, had to make it up.
I said Liberal. Obama was not a liberal.
You do know that the democrat house helped pass the tax cuts under reagan. Reagan did not get a vote. But the democrat house voted yes to tax cuts along with the GOP senate.
Your libs most certainly did help cut taxes under Reagan. They held the house and voted yes to cut taxes.
Somebody come get him.
Going back to the OP.
Stupid idea, just as stupid as the whole tip nonsense.
I see no good reason at all for this hamstringing of the Federal Government’s primary revenue stream.
The tax code is not particularly burdensome to the lower classes and they can pay their so called “fair share” along with the rest of us. That includes on overtime and tips.
In 2023, a single filer can write off the first $13,850 of his income, paying no taxes at all on it.
The next $11,000 is taxed at 10% or $1,100.
The next $33,725 is taxed at 12% or $4,047.
On a yearly income of $58,725, a single person would pay $5,147 or 8.76%.
And some people will get additional deductions or credits to reduce that number.
So I am not going to cry a river over people paying taxes on overtime or tips, given the rather paltry amount of taxes they pay at those low tax bracket levels. Clearly not overburdened.
I think it’s a great idea (and I say that as a guy who disapproves of several Trump ideas.)
Across the US economy companies average about $400,000 in capital stock per worker. As a boss, do you want to use that capital stock 40 hours per week or 44? or 48? HINT: You make a LOT more money if you can use it 20% more.
We don’t use a great deal of overtime labor. And younger generations are even more likely to refuse overtime, something we do not mandate, unless in VERY extreme and rare circumstances.
There are industry and companies that do. We don’t.
In any event, there are better targets for tax cuts directly relating to capital as versus labor.
