It’s not going to be just “the left” for much longer. People…citizens…want to return to normalcy, and are going to start demanding accountability from those that prevent it. It’s already started.
You just don’t have absolute freedom. If you want to operate in society, certain concessions need to be made.
And BTW, smoking bans, seat belts, and helmet laws didn’t lead to the camps you all are so concerned about. Neither will masking or vaxxing.
Or just stay home. I really won’t care.

What would the be explanation for not counting the breakthrough cases other than to improve public perception of the effectiveness of the vaccine?

Of course not. The vaccinated are are only 1% likely to have and transmit Covid. So that would be stupid to not have vaccinated people around you if you are unvaccinated
