Nancy “No Negotiations” Pelosi

Yes I have. Thanks.

So then in your estimation, Trump will have funding for his wall under Pelosi’s watch? Sure would like you to show me how that would be even remotely possible. You keep saying you’ve demonstrated that DEMS are willing to negotiate. Please show me.

He can have a wall for a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients.

Or not. In any given year the money could easily be removed, which most certainly would be the case in a DEM controlled house.

Sure he can.

He just has to give McConnell permission to allow a vote in the Senate on pending bills. You know the same type of clean bills that the Senate passed in December 98-0.

.>>>>

You missed the point.

House votes to end the emergency and open the government.

McConnell has no choice but to allow a vote (under the section of the law that requires it). He dosen’t want GOP Senators on record, because while it “can” be passed with the yea’s & nay’s, an objection will then make it a recorded vote.

Only thing is, we don’t know if the senate would not pass it or not. No guarantee that they would.

And again, he can’t open the gov anytime he wants without a bill sitting on his desk.

I would love to see the senate add in border wall funding and send it back to the house

Any congress can remove any funding from anything at any time. They’d have to do so over the obvious objections of the Senate and President, so it’s not as easy as you think. Further, if Trump pushed a shutdown to restore funding, he’d have the moral high ground in that fight so I think the Dems would ultimately lose.

Further, you ignore the fact that it was the same issue with the bill he did support and you ignore the fact that the DACA recpients could have their status revoked just as easily as the funding for the wall could be stripped.

Why do you keep talking about opening the government? The government would already be open under this scenario???

McConnel doesn’t need Trump’s permission for anything.

Does McConnell have to? Of course not. McConnell chooses to be subservient to Trump.

The senate still has not voted on a spending bill, so. apparently, he does.

Are you implying that Obama and Reid weren’t on the same page? Was he being subservient to Obama?

McConnel has chosen not to introduce a bill that Trump won’t sign. That has nothing to do with permission, it has to do with not wasting everyones time.

You gotta stop with this constant “are you suggesting” and then putting any random thing that comes into your head.

Focus on the topic. McConnell won’t do anything without Trump’s approval. He is acting like his inferior and when your boss acts like a fool, you’ll look like a fool too.

Who cares if Trump won’t sign it? They can override his veto.

When you stop with your Trump bashing, maybe we can have a real conversation.

But they don’t have the votes for an override. A waste of time.

I’m not Trump bashing. I’m McConnell bashing

McConnell won’t bring up a bill that passed unanimously just a month ago, but he will introduce legislation that he knows stands zero chance of passing the house. So much for “not wasting anyone’s time, it was a lousy excuse anyway. I mean, McConnell could at least respect our intelligence and be honest.

Anyway, I responded with a non-Trump bashing essay about how government works with regard to funding above. You chose to ignore it. Hopefully you can find time to reply. I’d be interested in hearing your response.

They don’t have votes for an override? It passed unanimously a month ago. It garnered far more votes than are needed for an override even if every freshman Senator (9 I think) votes against.
