Can anyone commenting on this topic tell what has changed over a number of years when the Democrats, including Obama, Clinton, Schumer and Pelosi all made speeches and indeed voted for a wall/barrier on our Southern border. They all condemned illegal immigration at some point in their careers. So what’s changed? The only thing that has changed is our duly elected President has advocated building it. Their hate for Donald Trump has reached new heights that they can’t see the wood for the trees, If anybody thinks walls don’t work, take a look at what happened in Europe who had a policy of open borders. Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants poured in to their countries forcing some of them to build walls/barriers/fences to stop the influx .Terrorist attacks, murders, rapes, sexual assaults and crimes all escalated out of control. Whole areas were taken over and Sharia law was introduced in these neighbourhoods, and local police are unable to patrol these places. Has walls worked in Israel? Yes they have, with the number of suicide bombers stopped. So why are these two fifth columnists, because that’s what they are, not putting American lives first, instead of playing politics. Anyone who doesn’t put the safety and security of their people first are by definition, traitors and should be treated accordingly. The President has offered to sit down and negotiate so why don’t they do that? Our enemies are laughing at the antics of these politicians, They are showing the world that our system of government doesn’t work. Unless they get their act together, America is finished. United we stand, divided we fall. After all the good work President Trump has achieved in two short years, fighting the whole time against corrupt, politicians, leaders of the FBI, CIA, DOJ and the mainstream media, he deserves a medal. He has almost achieved his promise to make America great again and yet he still has to fight every step of the way. It’s time to by-pass these traitors, declare a national emergency, redirect funds to your security policy, then you reopen the government and destroy the Democrats for good.

You know that it was an executive order that created that Obama said he couldn’t do just previous to doing it. If you have another executive order that does away with that. You know that the Supreme Court will not support this lower court ruling. This would put it into legislation authority to actually make it legal.
Actually, Reps in the Senate turned it down and Schumer got roasted by the extreme left wing in his own party for offering it.
Now since Pelosi is in that extreme left wing Pelosi couldn’t even offer it even if Trump was willing to sign it.

Back in the day when the Democrats voted for various comprehensive border security bills they had a clear understanding of how and where those funds would be used. This administration has been asked multiple times how and where this wall money would be used. And this administration has to date failed to provide that information. It has become clear that this is a manufactured crisis and purely a political move to give Trump a win for a campaign promise. Many questions have been asked on why he didn’t get it done when he had both houses of Congress on his side. And the simple fact is that he could not get the votes because even many Republicans could not endorse this wall promise.
Congress can end a National Emergency declared by the President per section (IIRC) 203C and the law requires that if the House passes a JR, then the Senate has time frames where they are required to vote.
The last thing McConnell wants is GOP Senators in a recorded vote for going against the will of the American people (per polls). Especially since the 2020 Senate class is no where near as good for the GOP compared to the 2018 class.

Do you think that the Democrats can actually win the Senate back in 2020. Remember it is 53-47 now. They are going to start one down because Doug Jones is not going to have Roy Moore to run against, and his vote to keep abortion legal after 20 weeks will kill him in Alabama, and his vote against Kavanaugh as well. Cory Gardner, Tillis, maybe McSally, Collins, those are close races, I doubt they go all Democrat. They need to gain 4 seats, in actuality 5 if Jones goes down as expected. This is why Jones is going to have to vote yes on this bill, so that is one Democrat for the bill McConnell puts up tomorrow.
I haven’t seen Donald Trump meeting with any of the victims of right-wing terrorists, except when he insisted on going to Pittsburgh when community leaders asked him to delay. Why… because meeting with people who already discount your leadership is pointless and likely to be ugly. That’s a political calculation every politician makes – no point in pretending it applies to one side or another.
And Benghazi, oh please. Eight investigations and nothing found. Enough already. You ought to call for an investigation into Trump and Pence’s claims that ISIS is defeated, when they are still killing US servicemen… except it would be as pointless as all the Benghazi investigations that you not doubt cheered as they wasted time, money and energy.
Democrats have a history of lying about border security, they’ve done it since Reagan and did again during GWB! Democrats simply can’t be trusted and somebody finally has to take a stand and hold them accountable.
The only thing preventing a bill from sitting on his desk is his intimidation of an elderly man.
Courts will likely decide the fate. I see no scenario where the Senate votes to end a National Emergency declaration.
