Presidents are entitled to a nomination, not a senate approval.
They are not entitled to approval. They should at least be given the courtesy of a hearing/vote.

They usually get one but you know, after you tell the opposition to shut up and go to the back of the bus, they might not be inclined to show you any courtesy.

no. it shows why they are absolutely needed. without parties the executive would be even more powerful as there would be no organized (loyal or otherwise) opposition.
