They’re rapists. They’re murderers.
The ones that registered for DACA. Then one grace period for more registration. Same 5 years as those that do it right. They don’t register they’re out.
Change the asylum laws. There is no reason to be granting asylum to people from those 4 countries. They can apply for residency just like everybody else.
Start rounding up visa over-stays. Slowly.
What kind of issue is it then?
I could be on board with all of this. I’m not opposed to changing the asylum laws…I’m opposed to doing it by executive fiat because as we have seen…what can be done by EO can be undone by EO…leading to a huge mess.
Plus it’s far past time Congress seize back some of its delegated powers from a way-too-powerful Executive.

I’m not an open borders person.
Legalize the Dreamers…yes. And yes- I know the backlash that would come from that…that’s what dealing with the border in a systematic way would (hopefully) handle.
And I know I’m making it sound easy when it’s not…I just think treating it as a defense issue and a political issue to stab the opposing party in the back with it is wrong.

I agree. Congress will not act.
So sarcasm? Guess I’m not woke enough huh?

A little bit. No, you’re not.
It’s actually culture.
I generally try to avoid broad brushing anybody but libs, however in this case…
I spent a lot of time in those places and I have an observation. The culture of fighting age, poorly educated males from those four countries is not compatible with #metoo. There are of course exceptions and I recognize that is a generalization.
If you libs would get off the racism and on to the culture, we might get somewhere. Probably not though.
It is my belief races are compatible, cultures not necessarily so.

The best, and ultimately probably the least costly, way to deal with Central American migration is to work to fix the countries they come from. Cutting aid is a step in the wrong direction.
How did the billions of dollars in foreign aid work over the past four decades? This is what makes me shake my head. Over and over again all we hear from the left is how bad the situation is in America and that the only solution is to get federal government to spend more money and create more government programs. On the other hand we also have to pump billions of dollars into every depressed country and fix their problems.

I’ll wait and watch the cons approach to the “culture”.

I just gave you my base approach.

The right was happily in there spending that money.

Indeed. So was the left.

Do you have any specific numbers with specific countries and timeframes you would like to discuss?
Sorry, but “you” don’t matter.
I’m watching conservative politicians.

Digressing to irrelevancies. What difference would that make? You doubt it?

Sorry, but “you” don’t matter.

Oh Lucy Darlin’, you’ve been led astray. Me and you are the only ones who do matter. Culture remember?

The alternative is building a wall? A wall is a complete waste of time and money.

Not that I necessarily disagree, but how do you know?
Can’t say I disagree. I think most Americans would agree. The difference isn’t Trump and his ilk are dehumanizing them and detaining them in cruel and horrific conditions.
They’re still people. Still deserve to be treated with dignity.
The cruelty is the point.
