No problems. With respect to gun control, I would refer to Australia’s, New Zealand’s and UK’s actions.
My point was that the article in question was dated 2014. That was five years ago. One would have no trouble finding articles in the past few weeks about mass gun shootings in the USA.
What is disingenuous about some posters is that they accuse other posters of only caring about mass gun shootings and nothing else. This claim is false and is used as a diversionary tactic. No-one claims that sensible gun law reforms is the panacea for all situations.
Obviously no one thing will solve everything. For example, mental health issues plays a part. That is why I personally don’t understand why people would oppose universal health care that would allow people who need help access to that help. Again this will not solve all the problems; but quite clearly it would help.

WuWei:
That’s the perfect analogy for our friends down under.
Then there must be mass shootings at every gun show. Right?
Bill.in.PA:
Four dead and two seriously mamed in a mass stabbing in Santa Ana and Garden Grove, California. The suspect has a long criminal history and was out on bail at the time of the stabbings. For background see:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/08/us/california-stabbing-attacks/index.html
Here is what a local police chief had to say:
Chief Tom DaRe said the suspect should have been in prison.
“Based on his prior arrest record, he is a violent individual who should have never been considered for early release based on Assembly Bill 109,” he said.
“California law enforcement agencies have been crippled by AB109, and offenders are not being held accountable for their crimes… our community becomes vulnerable when these criminals are released back into society and are able to commit further acts of violence.”

This mass murder appears to be a result of California’s catch and release program for convicted felons.
Or should we start registration and background checks for knives and sharp metal objects?
After that we should go to bows 'n arrows and sewing needles.
He he h he he …
WHERE DOES OT END???

Massacres every weekend at the convention center. Bodies on the floor in every police station.

At crochet hooks presumably.

Non sequitur.
Hardly. If guns kill people, then where there are guns there are killings.
There are thousands of guns at gun shows.
I am sorry your post has a paucity of logic within it

China is model of governance that left want to emulate.
People with guns kill people… lots of people. Since it is an effective killing tool. Far more effective than a knife.

Scary stuff. I have no doubt the sjw wing of the party would implement their social point system if they could.
Yes, guns are not necessarily the biggest threat for mass murder. The Nice truck attack killed 86 and injured 458:
On the evening of 14 July 2016, a 19-tonne cargo truck was deliberately driven into crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, resulting in the deaths of 86 people[n 1] and the injury of 434 others. The driver was Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a Tunisian living in France. The attack ended following an exchange of gunfire, during which he was shot and killed by police.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, saying Lahouaiej-Bouhlel an...

And I’d trade that reality any day and twice on mass murder Saturdays.
Because their overall homicide rates are a fraction of ours. Imagine that.
Russia has had a much higher homicide rate that the US in spite of severe restrictions on gun ownership dating back to the Soviet era. Homicide rates have dropped in recent years with a rise in gun ownership and less restrictive laws. For more information see:
Under the Soviet Union, private ownership of firearms was extremely restricted, but Russia has been gradually changing that policy.
Since 2007, gun ownership is up from 8.9 to 12.3 guns per 100 persons in 2017. That is still a small fraction of gun ownership numbers for the US.
At the same time, the homicide rate has dropped from 17.8 to 6.9 homicides per 100,000 persons in 2016. For reference, the US homicide rate was 5.3 in 2016.

So to you, lives don’t matter, only the means of taking lives matters. That’s kind of awkward for a bumper sticker motto don’t you think?
