Last night on CNN, Rick Santorum tried to make the argument that “Trump won” because his speech came across as poised, even-tempered, and presidential. Contrasting his usual bluster and off-the-cuff delivery. So basically, we were supposed to praise Trump because he wasn’t acting like a moron.

No one who actually watched last night objectively believes that at all. And as more Republicans peel off from the company line, this will become evident to most of us. Even Mr. Trump didn’t think his address moved the needle.
