Desantis once again punishes speech he disagrees with by killing funding for the Tampa Bay Rays’ practice facility, which was added to the budget by a Republican and was widely supported, after the Rays come out in support of gun control measures.

As cover for this act, he suddenly and conveniently adopts the position, which he has never before espoused, that he is against state funding for sports arenas and stadiums.

And his supporters cheer! Yay Protector of the Second Amendment at the expense of the First!

Yay, Oh Strong and Mighty Anti-Woke Crusader And Defender of Freedom (Unless You Disagree With Him)!

He also cut funding for a lot of improvement projects in my local area. Quite frankly, the businesses need to figure out how to fund it if they want it.

“Oh my boardwalk is broken and DeSantis cut funds to rebuild it!” Who cares. Go reach into your own damn pocket and buy some lumber and nails and replace it if it that means so much to you.

That seems to be the attitude these days. It’s the government’s job to do everything. People have forgotten not everything is the govt’s responsibility or within their powers.
