Curfew in place.
Arrest made.
Time to stand back.

Stop defending this clown.
Curfew in place.

All of them should have been arrested not just one.
To drive out business?
They aren’t making a more just system.
I say the virus isolation was a considerable factor.
They will.
It takes time to get charges that are supported.
Would you and I be in jail that first night?
Samm: WuWei: TommyLucchese:They just arrested the cop that killed that dude.
Well.
Blue privilege. The delay was the benefit of the doubt.
Actually, for this kind of incident, it was pretty quick. So was the immediate firing of all four cops. Usually there is a lengthy investigation before charges are brought.
Charging perhaps. Are you denying I would have left there in the back of a car in handcuffs?
None at all, but cops arresting other cops for questionable actions during an arrest would be completely unprecedented. I doubt that if the cop now charged with murder had pulled his gun and shot the man as he lay handcuffed on the ground would his peers have arrested him on the spot. Standard procedure to deal with cops suspected of criminal behavior requires an investigation by IA.
To drive out business?
They aren’t making a more just system.
They weren’t being heard.
Samm: Sknyluv: gooddad409: Sknyluv: gooddad409:I might carry a sign.I would probably campaign against the politicians involved.
Burning and looting? No way.
That’s privilege.
In what way?
Some groups are heard, others are not. Being heard by carrying a sign or staging a sit-in is a privilege some groups are not afforded.
Do you think that the cop would not have been charged with murder if the riots had not occurred? By what evidence?
I do. He would have been fired maybe.
Well, I don’t. He (all four cops actually) were fired before the riots. And as far as murder charges, the National attention was on this from the moment it occurred. The City could not ignore it. I do think, however, that had it not been videoed, that it would have been covered up or at least they would have attempted to cover it up.
Probably.
I won’t defend any of them in any way.
They ruined a lot more than the life they stole.
I don’t want the outraged people to think they are improving their case by driving out business.
They will be looking at those derelict structures for a long time.
In this case they were.
It was that horrible.
Where you a spectator, press or gawker?
Or participant … or instigator.
zantax:So they were looting flat screens to protest police brutality? Spare me.
How many people were doing that? Was it a large part of the protests or a small one?
More than enough … more than there should have been … more than you will admit to.
Samm:Sounds to me like you are viewing this like a sport. Are you missing baseball that much?
Why do you say that? I’m intentionally trying to discuss this as clearly and without emotion as possible.
I literally watched a police precinct evacuate their building while under assault from thousands last night in a city I used to know. This is significant.
Why would I say that? Have you read your own posts?
You do understand I support the people right to defend their property…even to point of shooting them in the face.
No. You let Leo arrest the ones who are oooting and burning.
Yeah … while their precinct is being burned … right.
What is he waiting for?
Waiting for what? Why are you asking me?
You do understand I support the people right to defend their property…even to point of shooting them in the face.
As they should. Doesn’t change a thing.
We tried peaceful and no one noticed. What’s next?
However I think all of them should be arrested.
Agreed. For criminal negligence and failure to provide medical assistance at least, as accomplices to murder at most. Not sure what the legal description of those would be.
But it’s early … I expect the investigation is still ongoing. They may yet be charged.
