It seems they would be on the same page. She would have seen and known the circumstances. So what gives? Why wouldnât she charge the guy with a violent felony when it was in her power to do so?

I didnât make excusesâI never got that far. I just showed up here. You asked me a question and I gave you answer. I reported a weird detail, heretofore unmentioned in the thread for some reason, that the DA who consciously chose to undercharge the guy is also coincidentally a member of Zeldinâs campaign, an election denier, and a Republican. Her judgement may be right or wrong. But it seemed odd, given how the discussion has preceded (at least from what Iâve read so far). Now, the US Attorneys are charging him. Somehow, this chain of events reveals hypocrisy.

Without looking it up I do believe there are Federal charges when it involves an attempted assassination of a political candidate or office holder.
