It does seem weird to me…

I’m not the one with the obsession.

The only thing that would make that post more convincing is if you put an emoji at the end of it.

It started as a trump ear thread. Then someone started talking about life defining moments in politics and I realized I don’t have any so I said that was weird and then folks got defensive and upset and emojied.

I am happy to talk about trump’s ear. I hope it’s doing okay. I’m glad there was no functional impact.

I’m not sure if my body can handle having any more hobbies.

Haha, touché. I swear I was going to try the para gliding until you told that story about your friend who took a plunge in a river and got plucked on by the fish (rip).

i guess not

It’s definitely a lesson in bringing the proper safety equipment for the flight ahead. There are kits for paramotors that auto inflate when they get submerged. He didn’t have his.

I mangled my ankle 2 years ago on a failed takeoff and it took 11 months for those 5 ligaments to heal 95% of the way (never did get that last 5%).

In each case, it’s almost guaranteed to be operator error.

But other than that, I also take the family camping/fishing every other weekend, I workout, been learning how to make not-crappy-noises with a guitar, I like to draw a lot, I play tons of metroidvanias, I go sailing with the wife ever chance we get, and I even recently started working at an auction company for the fun of the novelties.

Pretty soon I’ll need a vacation to recover from all the fun I have.

Damn. That’s a good life man. Seriously.

That has me beat by a mile.

Like lots of people, I work too much (not claiming that makes me special). And spend the rest of my time just trying to keep my kids alive. It’s important to propagate your genes, they said. It will be fun, they said.

If you mean control of an ineffectual clown car, sure.

Well he did kill one man and hospitalize two others, so he didn’t suck that bad, did he?

Probably depends on how it hit the ear.

I’m pretty sure if you hit it at just the right angle, it’s only going to leave a scratch behind.

Keep in mind this guy was hundreds of yards away, and was such a bad shot, his high school shooting team basically kicked him off their team permanently.

Luck played a large part. Had Trump not turned his head at that precise moment, there would have been brains spilled as well as blood.

130 yards, and that one shot as right on target. But the target moved …

I thought we’d been over all of this. We’re not going to do it again, are we?

My bad, I meant feet not yards. Still a good distance.

Not for that caliber. It has a flat trajectory between 75 and 150 yards.

was Pelosi in control? No.

Control was enough.

It’s certainly a life worth living, but never worth comparing oneself to. I spent the vast majority of my 30’s hobbling around on a cane. I wasn’t even physically able to pick my kids up for a time. Never again. I’m too motivated to stay off that stupid cane, too scared to let myself have to need it again, too honored to be looked up to by three beautiful little souls for the efforts I put in.

Long ago, my wife and kids became the centerpiece for everything I did.

“Will this make it easier for my wife to manage the household? Will this free up more resources so I can invest in the kids’ interest instead? Will this give me more time in the long run for my family?”

Just little things like that. It adds up. It becomes something more than us. The most important part just simply being around them, interacting with them, etc… What ever you’re doing, you’re doing it right if you just get a hug and an “I love you!” from them.
