Israel at War - Hamas Attacks

You keep ignoring statements from Israeli officials in support of removal of the civilian population. Their actions such as severe restrictions on food and water, destruction of civilian buildings, and the deaths of tens of civilians are consistent with that objective.

For example, here are quotes from the Israeli Defense minister:

On 9 October 2023, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant in an Israeli Army ‘situation update’ advised that Israel was “imposing a complete siege on Gaza. No electricity, no food, no water, no fuel. Everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.” He also informed troops on the Gaza border that he had “released all the restraints”, stating in terms that: “Gaza won’t return to what it was before. We will eliminate everything. If it doesn’t take one day, it will take a week. It will take weeks or even months, we will reach all places.” He further announced that Israel was moving to “a full-scale response” and that he had “removed every restriction” on Israeli forces. The outspoken officials don’t make Israeli policy, any more than outspoken congressional officials make US policy.

Took hostages and slaughtered about 1200 people.

The Hamas people are animals.

We need to stay out of it and let Israel have a free hand to do whatever they need to do in response.

The defense minister doesn’t make Israeli policy any more than the Secretary of Defense does in the US.

Good point.

The outspoken officials aren’t in charge any more than the outspoken (mouthy) Squad members are here in the US.

The quote is from the minister who is in charge of the IDF.

This is not some random backbencher in parliament.

Yep! The Secretary of Defense in the US is no random back bencher either. However he doesn’t make US policy.

In regard to the comments, they seem to be pretty accurate about utterly wiping out Hamas and their continued ability to function as a terrorist organization. He is not talking about extermination of the Palestinian peoople.

Netanyahu has been making similar statements:

. . . This is a battle not only of Israel against these barbarians, it’s a battle
of civilization against barbarism”. On 28 October 2023, as Israeli forces prepared their land
invasion of Gaza, the Prime Minister invoked the Biblical story of the total destruction of
Amalek by the Israelites, stating: “you must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our
Holy Bible. And we do remember”. The Prime Minister referred again to Amalek in the letter
sent on 3 November 2023 to Israeli soldiers and officers.
The relevant biblical passage reads
as follows: “Now go, attack Amalek, and proscribe all that belongs to him. Spare no one, but
kill alike men and women, infants and sucklings, oxen and sheep, camels and asses”. p 60

Netanyahu and Gallant’s statements are not empty rhetoric. They are consistent with Israeli actions in Gaza.

The shocking thing is how brazen Israeli officials have been in openly stating their objectives. Clearly, they believe that they will never have to defend themselves in a criminal court for their actions in Gaza.

Once again they refer to Hamas, not the Palestinian people. You seem to be fixated on fictitious genocide that simply isn’t taking place. Why is that?

Politics. Same reason the Zeon characters claim Zeon did nothing wrong by dropping a space colony and murdering 2 billion earthnoids in the Gundam fictional universe because Federation were bad too.

It’s all about politics and viewpoints. That’s something I learned from watching that series. Real life is like that too. Got to justify your mass murder somehow.

Haven’t seen this for a while…

Got to admire the commitment.

I approve of this. Let’s seem more pro-Hamas activists take this brave initiative.

Too bad for him that he was not committed (institutionalized) before he did this.

Let’s all miss the point.

If you have a point, make it before criticizing people for missing it.

The point is that this was obviously a mentally disturbed individual who belonged in an institution.

He’s talking about his commitment to his beliefs and ideals.

Crazy people don’t light themselves on fire as protest. Only the most committed people do that. They aren’t crazy. They never were. Just committed to what they believed.

Yes, according to statements from the Israeli government even infants are considered “Hamas” and are legitimate military targets. They are not just Palestinian civilians.

Israel is run by Jewish jihadists. They are waging a holy war of extermination and expulsion against the civilian population of Gaza based on a narrow, literal interpretation Hebrew scriptures, such as found in Netanyahu’s reference to Amalek:

Spare no one, but kill alike men and women, infants and sucklings . . . 1 Samuel 15:3

Some do … And just because a person is morally committed does not mean that they are not crazy.

All crazy people don’t light themselves on fire. A person who lights themself on fire is crazy.
