Then you believe a talking snake caused women to have pain during childbirth?
Makes much more sense than the whole science and evolution thing doesn’t it?
The Hebrew used means a whisperer, it can mean a snake, but needn’t.
Why does “he” need to be of any use? Why can’t “he” just be?
Why couldn’t god have used evolution as the means for the creation?
Didn’t God create that too? Seems odd that God would create something that would go against “his” plan especially when that same God would know this well before “he” created the very thing “he” was creating. Very odd indeed.
The OP specifically mentions the KJ version of the Bible.
Optrader:As far as I know, I’m the only fundamental Baptist in the forum. I’m also a conservative. Because of these two things, I have been called many things. Bigot, racist, misogynist, homophobe, xenophobe, hater etc.
I’m none of these, just a guy who accepts the truth of the Bible, specifically the King James, as it is written. I believe not MY words, but God’s word and I, as a Christian, am called to proclaim and uphold that truth regardless of what others think.
I’ve been called narrow minded because I reject what other Christians believe and proclaim what science " proves." I believe that God does not change and so neither does his word. What was sin then is still sin now and what was true then is true now. If this makes me narrow minded for seeing things one way, consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:14 “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
“Narrow is the way”. Seems pretty clear not all beliefs lead to that narrow path and strait gate.
What say you?
I always distrust people who know so much about what God wants them to do to their fellows. Susan B. Anthony
I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. Susan B. Anthony
And you can bet your bottom dollar on her.

What things do other Christians believe that you have rejected? I will assume the part about science refers to evolution but if not feel free to expand on that too.
The age of the earth is another big thing I disagree with. Other issues are things I am probably not in as big a minority as with evolution and the age of earth.
I believe in once saved always saved.
I believe in a pre tribulation rapture.
I believe in a literal Hell.
I believe in the world wide flood.
I believe God means what he says.
Where in the Bible is the rapture?
What did God have against all those innocent animals he killed in such a horrific manner during the flood?

From what I gather, that whole rapture thing never really fleshed out until the mid 1800’s middle America. It was a non-entity until then.
There also appears to be big money in convincing each generation the rapture will occur in their lifetime.
No, without contrition and seeking salvation there is no forgiveness.
I am Born Again, PROTESTant, and baptized.
You are not quite alone.
As a scientist, I doubt there are enough dice rolls to effect evolution.
The I believes are pretty good.
You should love the answer to this one…

Only if you believe giving creatures free will is compatible with making creatures incapable of going “against God’s plan”, which many don’t.
Sadly? Don’t you need them to die in mass numbers in Israel so you can get your precious Armageddon?
No. The gospel of the Kingdom of God will be preached to all the world, then the end will come.

Don’t you watch your Eddie Izzard, they were evil ducks.
Borgia_dude:Yet we would be punished for that 90 year decision for eternity. To me, that seems unjust.
Would welcome your thoughts.
Your problem is caused by a mistranslation of the NT Greek aiOnios and the OT Hebrew 'oLaM as eternal or never ending and forever. AiOn and 'oLaM mean an age/aeon. AiOnios means aeonous/ageous/age long, not forever.
You need to address this to optrader. He believes in an eternal hell.
What did God have against all those innocent animals he killed in such a horrific manner during the flood?
Animals? Think of all the innocent babies He killed during the flood.
Then you believe a talking snake caused women to have pain during childbirth?
No, but then I am one of those crazy Bible literalists. It was Eve’s sin. The snake could have talked all day and if Eve had not have sinned, there would have been no pain in childbirth.
