We gave them a boatload of money they desperately needed and otherwise would not have had. What they did with it was pay for a massive military buildup and expansion of their forces all over the region.
Nobody was ever going to make the US give that money to the Mullahs, that was our stupid choice.
They didn’t do a good job of hiding it. Under the agreement we would have had the ability to inspect that site as soon as we noticed it. Not anymore. This is a good example of why the JCPOA was a good thing.
assuming we have to go it alone on sanctions how do you plan on cutting off their oil? if you try and use the military to enforce a blockade that is an act of war. Iran would then be free to use terrorism against american interests worldwide including in the US.
congradulations you just managed to kill a whole bunch of civillians…
They’ve been using terrorism against US interests worldwide for forty plus years.
I believe you once claimed to have two sons serving in the military. Ask them who was directly responsible for the majority of our casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Hint, it was the Iranians who provided the weapons, training, and funding to the insurgents.
Blowback hell, it’s jihadism in it’s purest form. The US and Israel have always been their primary targets when they aren’t too busy killing each other.
“With Europe potentially turning to Chinese know-how to circumvent U.S. sanctions, the United States might find that the country being isolated in this situation is not Iran after all, but itself.”
