Once the shutdowns were put in place, the first stimulus had to happen.
And very few people at the time knew Italy was not going to be the norm for COVID at the time, so you really can’t blame anyone for initiating the first shutdowns.

Here are my thoughts both during and after trump.
Many didn’t need it. And many still should have gone back to work. A lot of people were pushing for just that.

It was misguided, too many hoops to jump through to get to dance. We should have trudged through and lived. But break the bank and pay for it later is what we got.

I blame the multitrillion dollar various spending bills under Biden most of which went to pork rather than what their flowery titles said.
The “infrastructure” bill. The “Anti inflation” bill.
That bill thar was wasted on Green New Deal crap, etc.
Government spending causes inflation not consumer spending.
