If "gender" is a social construct, then why use the term transgender?

A man can never know what being or feeling what a woman truly is. A man can only be a shadow of a real woman or be a sad parody. Same holds true with a woman trying to be a man.

This is just a small segment of society. My issue isn’t with them, my issue is with it being forced into women’s sports and even women’s prisons. I hate that children are being exposed to this at a young and impressionable age. This has no place in our educational system.

All children are being “exposed to” is the idea not to treat “the different” like total ■■■■ or “an abomination”.

I know this is such a terrible thing to be teaching them to some…

It has no place in our public education system. If parents want their child exposed to this, let them do it on their own time and on their own dime.

Have some respect for the parents who want their children to be educated not indoctrinated.

That’s not true. Typical Crit denial.

“Trans women” are not truly women now?

So it would seem to sum it up we can conclude that it’s not biological characteristics such as a penis, vagina, uterus, ovaries, testicles, mamory glands, etc., that distinguish men and women. On the contrary it’s the psychological feelings of an individual, although those feelings are based on arbitrary social constructs.

Which can be effectively taught by teaching them not to do that to anyone period.

You may be confusing voicing an uncomfortable truth to the different that hurts their feelings with "treating the different like total ■■■■ or “an abomination”.

It wasn’t a problem until they had to go straight from one victory of toilets and go straight into men can now dress as women and beat the ever loving ■■■■ out of them in sports. As well as let’s teach the children x and pubescent transitioning.

Most of all us can agree trans people should have the same rights as everyone else then it get’s ■■■■■■■ weird the demands. Not sure how many fractured skulls it will take in the MMA to realize women and men have differently levels of strengths regardless if you just changed your name from Jim to Jill.

It is more complicated than that. These are theories and the terms are coined by different people at different times, so there’s going to be the complexity that results when you have a kitchen full of cooks, or worse, sociologists. Gender has multiple definitions. Gender identity is basically an “internal construct” that is influenced by both internal and external forces.

Is this the first time you’ve encountered the idea that sex and gender are not the same thing?

KISS. :stuck_out_tongue:

In academic and scientific research writing? Good luck with that.

You are right, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t.

That’s why we should stop using “gender” and “gender dysphoria” and use phrases that express what we are actually talking about.

Now that you pro-blockers have painted yourselves into a corner, you want to magically transport to another room by semantic fudging.

My job requires me to get benefit information on patients. I have to select male or female when I look someone up. It is labeled “Gender” not sex. For every insurance. I guess they aren’t up to date with the lingo either.

This is all one big grooming campaign to legalize prepubescent hormone tampering.

“That person went through puberty as a male and has an unfair advantage no matter what!”

It won’t be long before some Greta Transberg sails across the news stream to whine about how it isn’t fair that they’ll be banned from women’s sports by the time they’re allowed to “transition”.

Why don’t those words express what we are actually talking about? I think they do. Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? We’re clearly able to handle words that on their surface may seem contradictory.

lol @ “pro-blockers”. Which corner did we paint ourselves into regarding puberty blockers?

Woo HOO! The mad libs don’t have a sense of humor.
