The President is a president, not a king. A president cannot fire a career civil servant (aka a eunuch bureaucrat).
The President is not the boss of the eunuch division.
Trump did as much as he could do by sidelining the Tiny Tyrant at press conferences.

You didn’t really give a reason. He fired the head of the Fbi, and Andrew Mccabe before his pension was due.
Didn’t he also replace the head of the postal service, who is a civil servant is he not.
Why wouldn’t he fire a man deeply unpopular with his base.
He was also very jealous of the good press Fauci received while he was flailing.
In a way his incompetence made Fauci a hero.

Ok maybe you disagree with the characterisation of my post but do you agree that Trump could have and from his point of view, should have fired Fauci?
He couldn’t fire him accept as an advisor which he pretty much did.
