I believe their key demand is not about illegal immigrants (although it may affect them in some way.)
I believe their key demand is that they want to undo the Trump medicaid âcutsâ they temporarily approved before. (In fairness they never comitted to making their temporary approval permanent.)
At issue is the part of the BBB that declared no more medicaid for able-bodied people unless
you find a job
or look for one
or train for one
or go to school
or have a young child at home.
(If all you do is smoke pot and play video games and you donât even TRY to get a job you no longer get free healthcare.)
The Trump proposal seems very reasonable to me. Frankly I wish it would have gone further.
Poor little dems. The party that lost and they still insist the winning party âmust negotiate in good faith and find a bipartisan compromiseâ. Since when have dems done that when THEY were in power? Sit in the back of the bus, right? Let the winners rule, right? Elections have consequences, right?
Such damn children. Every time. Turn the other cheek and you MUST do what we want tooâŠitâs only fairâŠ

Reporter: If DOGE Is already reducing the federal workforce, why is it necessary to link more federal jobs cut to a shutdown?
Trump: Democrats want to shut it down, when you shut it down you have to do layoffs. We will be laying off a lot of people that are going to be very affected⊠theyâre going to be Democrats.
ALl dems have to do is keep the govt going at the current level and work on policy differences in December as usual.
But they canât do that. That is on them. Losers donât set the agenda. Unless you want to lower that bar too. Iâm sure Reps would love that new precedent when they are in the loserâs seat once again. Or is this once again a matter of do as I say, not as I do? Rhetorical question, BTW.
Lol. If you canât get 7 people from the other party on your train, you are lousy at leading and deserve to lose your job. Which is exactly what will happen in the midterms.
