But I’ve made the same position on government shutdowns for MANY years and it’s independent of party in power. Anyone with a good memory will know that. I got tired of typing similar comments up each time so I wrote it once and saved it so I don’t have to start from scratch. I’ve been expressing similar feelings for years here, at USMB, and Debate Politics. Finally went back and found a full version I like and saved it to Word.

So who was President in 2023 when I finally used it in a DOC?

find me 7 democrats who will compromise enough for whatever gets through to not be a democrat bill. They won’t, because there are no moderates left in the democrat party, they are leftists all. Well, maybe 1.

Republicans go into ever shut down with guns loaded, and exit every shut down losing support. This will be no different. Why would any Democrat consider voting for a spending bill the administration won’t abide by anyway? Why would any Republican allow that?

This is only about a 30 page bill to keep the government running for a few weeks. . . . . running on the same budget it’s on now. Nothing added and nothing taken away.
