Nothing stopping the majority from blowing up the filibuster. Except for maybe their own members.

We can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible that are bad for them and irreversible by them, like cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things they that they like, cutting programs that they like.

Most of these program cuts will disproportionately affect MAGAs.

GOP controls the Presidency, the House and the Senate.

But the shutdown is the Dems’ fault.

And 100% of those GOPs will vote for the CR.

“Control” of the Senate is just a simple majority. Still need 10 Dems to place the good of the country over party.

It takes 60 votes to pass. That means the Republicans need 6 democrat votes.

In control of every lever of government, the Trump administration needs to compromise enough to get a grand total of seven Democrats to vote with them - and they won’t do it.

Republicans go into ever shut down with guns loaded, and exit every shut down losing support. This will be no different. Why would any Democrat consider voting for a spending bill the administration won’t abide by anyway? Why would any Republican allow that?
