What are “Bernie Bros”? And where did this term come from?
Like a lot of fights among people who are used to agreeing with each other, it can often seem like Sanders and Clinton supporters don’t have the same thing in mind when they argue about “Bernie Bros.” And it can sometimes seem as if the two sides aren’t so much talking past each other as engaging in selective listening.
The term “Bernie Bro” gets used to refer to separate ideas in the presidential campaign.
One is that Bernie Sanders’s supporters are literally mostly composed of dudes (or, as sometimes expressed, mainly young white dudes who fancy themselves class warriors).
This has some literal truth: Polls have found that Democratic men are more likely to support Sanders than Democratic women are, and the Iowa caucus entrance polls showed Sanders winning among male caucus-goers while Clinton won female ones. But the real divide between Sanders and Clinton isn’t gender, but generation… .
As the lib election heats up and comes down to just 3…or 2, the establishment will raise it’s snake head from the grass…and choose who they want…regardless of who libs voted for. Just listen to those in this thread already…falling in line…nodding their heads in approval…and evolving from people…into sheople…right before the eyes of all.
This is going to be sort of Trump’s playbook…along with ramping up Burisma hearings in the Senate and having John Solomon a permanent guest on the talk show circuit starting around June.
Everything to convince the Bernie vote that Bernie’s been cheated again, so either a) come over to us or b) stick it to the Dem establishment by staying home.
This stuff works on that voter segment too.
It is the supreme irony that it’s the right…the supposed “bastion of independent individual thinking”…that mostly falls lockstep behind their nominated candidate, while much of the left does not.
Only the Republican party would throw away nearly every conservative principle they had, to vote for an embarrassment of a human being. Actual conservatives, chose country over party.
