There are 180,000 hospitalization cases from the flu in the US.

There are 26,784 cases of corona in the US.

How is it overwhelming the system?

The system is built to handle the seasonal flu. Its not built to handle an additional pandemic. And 26K is jus the beginning.

We are on the left hand shoulder of the curve. that’s the problem.

But the fact remains, hospitals in NY and NY and CA are filled because they are not prepared o admit so many people into IC.

There were 647,000 hospitalized during the 2018-2019 flu season.

This flu season there have been 370,000, flu season is almost over.

That’s almost 300,000 less this season than last.

I’m under the impression this is more like a flash flood. We may have more rainfall all year(the flu), but covid19 is like a down pour over a short amount of time. It overloads the streams and storm sewers causing flash flooding. It seems like this is what is happening in italy, and we shall see what happens here.

180/12*1.5= 22K over a month and a half period. So we are more than doubling flu like emergencies.
